I have been researching my family tree since 1998. I wrote a book on the Lashells/LaShelle/LaShell family.|
I am related to the following surnames: BAIN(E), BLACK, CHITTY, EASTON, HOUTZ, JAMESON, JEFFERS, KOSMICKI, KRACHT, LaSHELLE, LaSHELLS, LaSHELL, PITULA, RACE, RAYMER, SANDERS, TOMLINSON, WOOD & VAN ARSDALEN.
I love genealogy and I welcome any corrections or additions. I am really happy to answer any question or accept any suggestion, so don't be afraid to write. I am also happy to transfer a memorial to a family member or friend to maintain.
I enjoy helping others with their family research and try to post pictures from cemeteries in my area as frequently as possible. Pictures that I post on this site are for sharing, so please feel free to copy or post them as you like.

Hi, I was wondering if you still had your burial books from Stephenson County, IL? If you do I would love a look up for the family of RIDEOUT who could be buried at Oakland Cemetery, Freeport, IL. I know you are busy and there is No hurry. Those People aren't going anywhere. LOL Hope you are having a great fall. Hugs from Alaska, Patsy
|Carolyn Whitaker||Madison Y Johnson|
I just want to commend you for putting a link to an extremely valuable piece of information regarding the arrest of Madison Johnson and the war between the states. The reason it made me look for him was due to an article published
"the Knights of the Golden Circle."
Date: Thursday, September 18, 1862
Paper: New York Tribune (New York, NY)
which gives an account of Lewis Ballard who was arrested and also sent to Fort Lafayette at the same time as Johnson.
I am studying the KGC and their activities in Kansas and Missouri during the war. It is well worth studying as to what REALLY went on during the war. No one ever looks at the real reasons for the war and the atrocities the North did as well. Everything is always written from a Northern point of view.
Just wanted to let you know. Thanks

Eva in 1932, and then William in 1937. Eva's parents are also buried at Greenwood, and so it is *possible* that Eva and William purchased plots nearby, but again I don't know for sure.
William Tindell #115298899
Eva Tindell #115298790
John Tracy #88389391
Thanks for taking a look at these, appreciate it!
|paths2present||RE: Greenwood Cemetery|
Thanks for getting back to me, and thanks for the offer. I'm looking for William and Eva Tindell.
I spoke to someone at the Galena History Museum, and he said they don't have any reference other than the three part genweb survey. He suggested I contact the cemetery board to see if they have a plot map. (I called, no answer, left message.)
When I saw how much you've done at Greenwood, I figured you would know the best way to go about it.
I would appreciate it if you could take a look at your photos to see if you already have them. Let me know either way, and I'll post a photo request for them. When you have time, no rush.
Thanks again for your help!
You've done a lot of work at Greenwood, so I thought I would ask you-- is there is a contact number for this cemetery? I would like to make a couple of photo requests but thought I would try to get plot locations first. Is there an office for this cemetery? Appreciate any advice you can offer--thanks!
|Mary||RE: bundy family|
thanks so much for all your hard work..I was wondering what funeral homes are still around in
carroll county..I may try to contact them.
many times they have records of their burials but then stones are never placed by the family. I know the bundy and kendig families had very little money to buy gravestones...the one stone of christopher bundy was placed by US government for his serving in Civil War
any other suggestions??

hello again, Jennifer,
I have written to you in the past. was just wondering if all of the graves in Spring Valley have posted gravestone pics? could you check to see if there are any more Bundy's buried in Spring Valley. Isaac and Susannah bundy had several babies born and died in early childhood while they were living in
carroll county, Illinois. I assume they were buried in the spring valley cemetery. also my great great
grandmother was rachel bundy kendig. she died while living in carroll county abt 1868. any chance you
might find her in one of the cemeteries.
any help greatly appreciated. she also had a baby
named sarah ann kendig and she died abt 1860. so there should be a record of her death also.
thanks so much
