Bio

Hello everyone,
I started working on the McVey family tree back in 1979. After the death of my grandfather, James Preston McVey (64288185), my father came into possession of an old humpback trunk that contained a civil war flag, a couple of old double barrel shotguns, tin type photos, and the Family bible. The bible contained the birth dates of my Great-grandfather and his brothers, that was the "seed" that got me started.
I had no idea at the time how addictive genealogy could be.
I ran across Find-a-Grave during a recent research jag. It has become one of my favorite resources. I've always been an avid photographer, so I have plenty of photos from past visits to family cemeteries, I'm attempting to add them as well as the newer ones I have visited.
I hope my additions are as helpful to your research as yours have been to me.
