I moved from the Colorado mountains to eastern Kansas a few years back when my daughter decided on KU for her engineering studies. In searching for new place to call home, I came across a church from the 1880's that sits on the Santa Fe Trail. Converting this church into a home has been an interesting path and along the way, I've learned some of the history of the area.|
I was fortunate to be close to my grandparents and have the chance to spend time with them before they passed away. My Grandmother passed on Christmas Day of 2005 and my Grandfather joined her a year later.
My interest in FindAGrave began as I researched family on my grandparents side - and was able to find my great grandparents and even family members 5 generations back from all over the nation! I realized what a powerful tool this website can be!
In joining the FindAGrave team of volunteers, I am learning more of the local history through the names I've documented from local cemeteries. I've been working to update the town's master cemetery list to include additional details from the headstones (such as birthdates, marriage dates, list of children). I hope my work helps others as we search for and document our history.

I just purchased a Darrall family bible and it lists the birthday of Kate Darrall See as May 21, 1944. The date on her memorial #26532488 is listed at May 10. Her tombstone only shows a year. The same Bible lists her birth as 21 May 1854 in German Township, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
I am not sure of your sources for dates but thought I would share this will you. The images with the handwriting can still be found on ebay in the completed listings if that helps.

Hi I was wondering how to find more information about this person I noticed an anonymous message that stated something about a great grandmother seed disrupting the legacy of the family I'm wondering if the great grandmother question is Lula maude. great grandmother was Lula maudes daughter and did some pretty awful things. I've always wondered about her mother and that side of my family like if they were genetically evil

I see you have a picture of Elizabeth Ball Mecham, 1804-1855.
If her death was 1855 how can we have a picture of her. Were they taking pictures of family in 1855?
This is my husbands 4 great grandmother and delighted to find the grave.
Bertlyn Crouse Johnston.

Sounds like a ton of fun and hard gratifying work on your home. The family properties also have the Sante Fe Trail going thru it.
I am messaging you to ask if you would please link my great grandparents, Marcia V Cooper and Joel Putnam Cooper. His # is 66546131 and located in Genessee Prairie Cemetery in MI.
Thanks so much for your hard work on this.
Happy Hunting, Londa
Kind greetings! Pamela Rene Thompson is my first cousin. Her parents, Wilma # 23281421 & Marion Reed (Pete) Thompson are buried in Snapp Cemetery, Taney MO - It would be wonderful if they could be connected here at Find A Grave. Thank you for all you do for others!
