I was researching this part of my tree and came across this particular member you created that was KIA #85241485. I was wondering if you are related? I checked a fantastic website to see if there is an overseas record of burial or memorial for him and there is not. I did find however a war roster of the dead showing disposition of casualty with his home of record maybe leading to the fact that he was sent home for burial (?). If you are seeking his grave maybe putting in a photo request in the cemetery his father is buried in would be a great jump off. You may already use this, but if not please check out this group that documents veterans buried overseas. They are the American Battle Monuments Commission. (I didn't want to throw a link up on your page). Regards,

Awesome Thanks so much! I'm doing my family tree and want to make sure I put the right people in as I'm sure you might know can be tricky at times lol

Thank you so much for their photographs.
With Jonathan's photo, the Alice that is also listed on his tombstone is his second wife Alice Dizler. I guess I should add that to his memorial.

Hi James, I believe you have a birth date mistake. You have 10 Nov. 1921. He is listed with his parents on the 1920 Census, age 1/12 and his Social Security record shows 10 Nov. 1919, as does his Draft Card. He is not a close relative and I appreciate your time in doing this. Thank you. D.S.

Thanks for the note on my several times great granduncle V. Hawley. His cousin, Hiram, also of this unit died in the war too. He is memorial 42760987. He was the only son of Gregory Hawley.
Thanks again for leaving the note. It's important we don't forget the sacrifice of all who have served.

Do you know if it is possible to get a Military Grave stone for a person that you don't know where they are buried. Allen is my Great-Uncle. His father and brother are buried in Michigan. If possible I would love to have him buried next to his father.

Thank you so much for sharing this article. I posted it on his page and credited you as well. There will never be another group of people like the "greatest generation".
