RE: William
Luke

There may not be a connection except for the Bible itself. On the inside cover, it says Margret (sic) Henson was born....(I don't recall the date)...and that's it. In between the old and new testaments it lists birthdates for my Great Great Grandfather, C O Whortan, his wife Iliza Hopper Whortan (and some of her relatives), their five children Galena Whortan Butchee, Asa Monroe, Gracie, Jennett and Mae. So if you you're not aware of Hoppers, Whortans or Butchees....the only other potential connectin I can come up with is the last name Womack....Asa's wife. I'm particularly interested in Jennett, Mae, and Gracie as I have no more information except their names and an old family picture where I'm not exactly sure who's who among the daughters. The guy I though might be Willie was in that picture and there was some similarities....although I wouldn't call it an exact match. I thought there might be roughly ten years between pictures to explain the minor differences.

From what I gathered as I dug around trying to learn as much as I could...Margaret died fairly young and then her sister Melvina married Pedergraft? It could just be that they all went to the same church in Missouri??

Thanks for your response,
David

William "Willie" Pendergraft
You've posted a portrait picture and gravestone picture for William Pendergraft and I'm trying to connect him to my family.

I am in possession of a bible that was owned by his Mother, Margaret. In that bible is listed information on my Family; Whortans (Whortons), including my Great Great Grandfather Clayton Orthinal and my Great Grandfather Asa Monroe.

So while I'm nearly certain there's a connection, I'm not sure exactly what it is. Based on his birth date, I suspect that William may have married one of Asa's sisters? Jennett, Gracie or Mae?

Since you had a picture of William, I'm hopeful you may have additional information.

Regards,
David Whortan

James Joseph Rich
James Joseph Rich did not belong to Jacob Rich and Philopena N. Sharp. Jacob had a son Joseph but he was married to Nancy Newton Stovall and they remained in Franklin County, TN until their deaths. Joseph and Nancy are my gr-gr grandparents. I live within a few miles of place of residence and place of death and cemetery where buried. Bob Rich

Jane Adair
Luke, I am going to disconnect my Nancy Jane Adair link for now. If there is a Jane Adair that was born 1n 1832 and Buried in the same cemetery as her father in Ok; and her stone states that she was the daughter of Andrew then my Nancy Jane Adair can not be the daughter of Andrew. Amazing what you can find on Find-A-Grave. That's why I wanted you to look at it. I'm am really glad to clean this Lightfoot Cherokee connection up in the Wesson line. Thanks, Terry

Request for permission to use photos
I'm using Ancestry.com and Family Tree Maker to work on my genealogy and would like your permission to use the photos found on findagrave.com:

At this time, this is the memorial I'd like to use - I expect there will be more coming later:

Thanks for the info. I have added it. In fact, I know I have come across these articles before and I believe that I have those added to the news article section of my Keys Family site.
