Descendants of Laura Amelia Full Sheppard
In April of 2012 you posted a message to Tree Frog indicating that Laura Amelia Full Sheppard was your ggggrandmother. I believe that you are descended down a different branch from Laura than the one I am looking at but I am hoping you can help me or at least point me in the right direction.

One of Laura's children was Lewis Sheppard born 1836 in Virginia. One of Lewis' children was Draper Camden Sheppard born 1867 in West Virginia died 1924 in Wirt, West Virginia. One of Draper's children was William Dorr Sheppard born 1897 in Wirt, West Virginia died 1953 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This is where I am looking.

I have a copy of a marriage license showing that William married my cousin Evalena Knupp 1923 in Wirt, West Virginia. This is as much as I know about their relationship. There is a memorial posted on findagrave for William Dorr Sheppard with a gravemarker photo including a woman named Katherine.

I am interested in finding out what happened to Evalena. Did she die and William remarried to this woman named Katherine? Did they divorce? Did they have children?

Any insights or suggestions you might have would be appreciated.

Thank you.

RE: Warner?Wariner
Dear Mary Jane,
Yes, the Warriner, Warner, and Wariner names are all connected. My grandmother's maiden was Warriner. Her brothers was changed when entering the service by the government. They spelled it like the sound of the name. At that time it went to Warner. The country singers and brothers, Steve and Terry Wariner was Warriner. Niw it is Wariner. My grandparents Hiram Taylor Warriner and Eliza Ellen Sweeden were from Sewellton, Russell, KY. Later about 1910 or so moved north. They lived at Merrimac, KY Burial at Pine Grove Church Cemetery in Casey, County, KY.
I do not know who Mary Catherine's parents are at this time. Several people have John Wm Woods trees on, but none with her side of the family. I hope this helps, but all the Warner's in that area are related.
Grandma's came in from England and New York down to Russell County, KY. (V.)
