I've been a cemetery walker for quite a while. I was the driving force for a total restoration of the mausoleum of Major General Winfield Scott Hancock at Montgomery Cemetery in Norristown in 1994 and now run an organization based around him, the W.S. Hancock Society. You can visit us here: www.wshancocksociety.org
I come from a very old German family from Montgomery County, PA before it WAS Montgomery County and from a newer Ulster-Scot family from Conshohocken, PA.
I'm happy to help in supplying photographs of headstones as long as you can tell me where they are located in a cemetery near me.

Karin - I am not related and would be happy to transfer these memorials over to you. Could you please send me the memorial numbers?

Thank you ever so much for taking William's grave marker photo. It really means a lot to me. Not only do I know that year he died, but also the correct year of birth.

Just took part of this beautiful day to go to Lower Skippack and try to find my ancestors. I found and photographed the same MK stone that you did, but realized the date (1765) does not match the DOD that appears in most family trees (1761). It appears that there may have been multiple people who might have been "MK," altho I would like for it to have been Rev Martin. There was another stone lying flat next to it which also has MK and 1770 or 1776 or even 1778 ... all you can see is the round loop of the last digit. Can you give any insight? To some extent it is enough to know that I was in the right place and to see so many names that have become familiar through research.

Thank you so much for the picture. I appreciate your efforts. Karen
Many thanks for the photos of the memorials of Maria and Joseph Detweiler ... they were my sixth great grandparents. I was just reviewing Find A Grave and came across these, which were new since I last checked. Wonderful! Ellen
