Bio and Links
Bio Photo PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE use the features under the edit tab to submit updates to memorials. I receive hundreds of updates each month and don't have time to manually edit them all. THANK YOU!

FOR RESEARCH / GENEALOGISTS: You can search the cemetery records yourself at http://www.huntsvilleal.gov/gis/Cemetery/cemetery.htm. There are two databases. The cemetery records database is the transcription of the actual cemetery office records. The older records are unfortunately incomplete so just because someone is not listed doesn't mean they aren't there. The burial markers database is a list of mostly the older markers that employees recorded walking around the cemetery. They are also incomplete, but between the two, you can identify the majority of the people. Old Huntsville Magazine's website also contains some records of Maple Hill cemetary at http://www.oldhuntsville.com/Cemeteries/Maple_Hill/Maple_HillList.asp. There you may be able to find things like cause of death. Finally, the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library has a lot of online genealogical and Historical Huntsville records available at http://hmcpl.org/. Good luck in your search!

When requesting a transfer, you MUST state how you are related to the deceased. Just because you are also a genealogist and have information is not a valid reason for a transfer.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE use the auto-edit feature whenever possible to send me corrections or additional information. It is so much easier for me to click to accept your edits/additional info than to have to manually enter each section of each memorial for the numerous requests I receive. Please be patient, I receive numerous requests and I will get to yours as soon as possible. Thanks!

Re FINDAGRAVE
Yes, that would be a killer of FINDAGRAVE. I couldn't afford it. I'm retired and have been 22 years, my pension is stretched about as far as it will go to feed my other addictions. This is the best thing, right behind Dr. Pepper - LOL!

RE: Henry Halsey
Heather, indeed they (the newspapers) were very graphic, at least in this case, in the description of the death of Mr. Halsey. I found it interesting that he was described as a veteran carriage builder and that the cause of his death related to problems with the wheels breaking on the buggy in which he was riding.

RE: Minnie Bell Gaines
Heather, I know I've cut your number of memorials down substantially; but, I so appreciate you letting me gather my loved ones sort of back into my life. Feel like I know you personally. You are the BEST! Pat

RE: Ellett Opps!
Thanks Heather, I'm learning but still crawling. So many relatives so little time. This is what happens when you outlive them. You are the greatest. Copied down to save what you told me. THANKS AGAIN seems not enough, Pat

TN PAT on Charlie Acuff
Heather, Could you please tie Charlie Acuff (90504938) to Mable L. Acuff (140666059), she was a Wilbourne. Would appreciate it. Mable is my great great Aunt on my Mother's side. You are becoming a familiar name as I gather my family records and I thank you for the good works you do for us all. God Bless Pat McCown Throneberry (47754735)

Can I ask for your source on his burial location? Because Maple Hill Cemetery has no record of this person.
