Bio Photo Hello! I'm a graver, an artist, baseball entusiast, and an active participator of American Civil War living history presentations.
Find-A-Grave is an excellent resource for determining one's heritage, family tree, and genealogy. Sometimes the smallest thread can lead to a successful path in defining someone's lineage instead of a dead end. (pun intended)

Hello Kevin. I submitted some corrections to some graves in this cemetery that you manage, but as of yet, you have not approved them.

Daniel Reddington #18769122
Elizabeth Ashcroft #18768943

Over the past several years, I have submitted several corrections to graves you manage. You have always accepted them--I am a professional genealogy researcher. You have even commented back to me that you enjoyed my stories that I have posted--including the Stallo and McDonald graves in the Spring Grove Cemetery--I remember that.

Anyway, I have researched the Reddington-Ashcraft (Ashcroft)-Jennings families, as my mother's side was a Jennings, and I am positive of the information that I submitted to you. Would you please accept the corrections that I have sent you for these graves, and any other corrections that I sent you for the graves in the Franklin Methodist Cemetery? If you require proof, please reply back, and I will send you the parts of my report that document these corrections. Thank you very much.

Franklin Methodist Cemetery
Hello. I have submitted some corrections to the memorials at this cemetery. It is odd, however, but the Russel family actually did spell their name as Russel (not Russell). (But I did see one stone with it spelled as Russell, a later death, when they may have started changing the spelling.)

The Russel family came from Bucks County, PA and settled into Colerain Township in the early 1800s. They migrated with the Baker family and the Richardson family, headed up by the patriarch Clement Richardson (1750-1827), and the Baker family, headed up by James Baker and his wife Francis Richardson Baker.

I also submitted a correction to you for the spelling of Clement's first name. His wife was Catherine Baker Richardson, also buried here. Their son Clement (born 1794) was actually named William Clement Richardson, and his wife was Ardilla Baker Richardson, who was probably related to his mother Catherine. The Russel, Richardson, and Baker families left Cincinnati sometime after 1850 and migrated to Illinois. Thank you for posting the graves in the Franklin Methodist Cemetery.

Use of photos
Hi

I wondered if you had any objections to my using some of your photo's to illustrate my family tree?
Thank you for taking the time and effort to let those of us in other parts of the world see the final resting places of our distant relatives.

Thank you for creating the memorial for the youngest son of my great great grandparents. The family came over from England in 1849 on board the LZ from Liverpool. Would you consider transferring his memorial to me? My number is 47986407. Thanks

Sgt James B Mitchell
I came across your memorial for Sgt James B Mitchell (Find A Grave Memorial# 22097497). You stated that he was a member of Co A, 4th OVC. However, we can find no record of him in the Official Roster, Soldiers and Sailors System, or Ohio Genealogical Society Civil War roster. I did find a First Sgt/Captain, Co's D, A, & H, James B Mitchell in the 96th OVI. Do you have anything that shows he was in the 4th OVC? The pic of the stone is next to impossible to read.

‘Corp. Gotthold Markert’
Dear Mr. Guy,

Wow, you have done a great job in Hoffner Cemetery in Mt. Healthy!

Regarding your ‘Corp. Gotthold Markert’ (c. 1823 Saxony--17 Feb 1889, Mt. Healthy, Hamilton Co., OH) your #17815975, have you ever seen any record of his wife there?

Gotthold married “Dorothea Loreta Markert” (nee unknown) in Saxony prior to their coming to Mt. Healthy. The 1860 census shows both of them living there with their children.

“Dorothea Loreta” or “Loreta” is definitely listed in the 1880 Census of Mt. Healthy, but it is presumed she passed away prior to his death on 17 Feb 1889.

I note, two of Gotthold’s children are buried in the same cemetery, and was just hoping there was some record of his wife.

Very Respectfully,
Jim Forcum

Cpl. Benjamin J. Decker
K Guy: Thank you for your contributions to Findagrave.com. Benjamin J. Decker was born in Wayne Co., New York, where his parents lived, according to three censuses. He prob. never was in Germany. However, if you can provide proof, I'd be ever so grateful. If not, I'm requesting that you change the birth section. Thanks again.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Hough
