Bio and Links
Fascinated by geneology, especially military heroes and their families who sacrificed so much. Born in Iowa, graduate of Coe College and spent my career years as an accountant in Arizona, while raising step children, nieces, nephews and enjoying my Godchildren and friends. Now supposed to be semi-retired, haha, raising alpacas while working off the farm and spending quality time with dad. He is 86 and loves the farm.

At first couldn't upload photos because of too many pixels but figured out how to change that on my camera before taking the photos.

I've been researching my wife's family tree and I believe there is a tie with Mr. James McNitt (my wife's mothers, fathers, mother's, father..). However, I don't have enough information to confirm. If you are willing to confirm the information I have my addy is LRSU35(at)outlook.com.

Mr. McNitt (geometry teacher)
Hi Ruth...sorry I can't tell from the entries how you're related to Mr. McNitt. But your entry helped me confirm that Mr. McNitt was from Iowa and was theatrically focussed. So, I don't know if you have enough personal knowledge to confirm or deny this, but I'll throw it out there. I have a vague memory that he told us that he directed or was in a version of The Music Man before it moved on to professional levels. Whether he did or not, know that this question came out of a facebook thread extolling his use of Flatland in the classroom...we're talking about it 25 years later :)

Ruth,

Thank you so much for taking the time for Roy's photo. As you could see, my photo has my reflection and I did not want to leave it on the Memorial. I live in Tennessee so I couldn't just go back and it is quite possible when I was there, the marker had not been placed yet. I cannot imagine not taking a photo of it, especially since it is military and I feel the same way you do about the military and military markers and take a photo every time I see one. It is hard to leave a cemetery without taking a photo of any military marker I come across.

God Bless!
