I am honored to create memorials for our WW2, Korea, and Vietnam war dead.

Fleet Admiral Chester W. Nimitz:
"They fought together as brothers in arms; they died together and now they sleep side by side...To them, we have a solemn obligation the obligation to ensure that their sacrifice will help make this a better and safer world in which to live."

I have recently completed a five year project traveling to Hawaii annually from the mainland to photograph headstones for all of our WW2 dead at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) in Honolulu. I have added over 10,000 photos to memorials at the cemetery. Prior to 2008, few of the memorials had headstone photos added and I made it a commitment to travel their annually to finish this project which I completed in 2013.

Interred at the cemetery are men and women from all branches of the service, US Marine Corp, US Army, US Navy, US Coast Guard, and US Merchant Marines. US Marines from the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th divisions are interred there, along with soldiers of the US Army's 6th, 7th, 11th Airborne, 23rd (Americal), 24th, 25th, 27th, 31st, 32nd, 33rd, 37th, 40th, 43rd, 77th and 96th infantry divisions.

They came from all of the Pacific war's most significant battles, beginning with several hundred internees who were lost at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. There are over a 1000 burials of men from the US Marine 3rd 4th, and 5th Divisions who died at Iwo Jima, which comprises the single largest group from one conflict.

The first burials at the cemetery were held on January 4, 1949, more than three years after the war in the Pacific had ended.

Hi Jeff
I've been looking for where my uncle died and was buried. He was Raymond Elmer Sims born 10 Feb 1894 in Bartholomew County, Indiana. Could this possibly be him. Please advise. Wilma Massengale

RE: PFC William E Kail Photos
You are most welcome. I found the citation you posted to on Pvt Kail's memorial so interesting. There is no indication at his grave that he was awarded the Navy Cross. Such a high honor...I wonder how many were awarded for the Battle of Iwo Jima.

RE: Pvt Vernon R T Kloth Sponsorship
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the transfer, I promise I will treat with great care and respect. Thank you for all the work in putting it together (and with all of the many you've done and are doing).

I did the photo request for Dee, to go with the obituary she sent over--I decided to sponsor because of his great sacrifice; also, because we share the same birthday, went to the same high school, and I wanted to make sure more pictures could be added, if the need arose.

I appreciate your gesture very much--hope I can find some more pictures to go with your fabulous memorials! Take care and enjoy the rest of the summer.

Find A Grave Memorial# 133689591

Posted a marker photo for Glenn at Evergreen. I thought my project was big, yours makes mine look tiny. I have photo documented 95% of Evergreen. They do have a Veterans section that has over 500 Veterans from different periods. Many other are in different sections also. Please let me know if I can be of assistance.

Hi Jeff I think this is the last Flier Crew. I created a link to your Virtual cemetery on this memorial. I hope you will eventually be able to add the link to all the flier crew. Also there are several Minnesota memorials on this crew and i know you are friends with Shane O. He has a Minnesota list if you could either transfer or let send him the numbers. Take care
