Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am comparably new to genealogy (2001) but have become a "junkie" very quickly. I live in the Seattle area where my family has lived for over 6 generations.

I am researching: Smith, Ristine, Kipp, Ingersoll, Cunningham, Bishop, Bean, Moose, Platt and Golnick, as well as many other branches of these names. I have been blessed to have connected to many members of my family, who have been working on genealogy much longer than I have, and have been so generous to share their hard work with me, which has given me a great base to build upon.

I have been working with my Aunt Sharon ("sharon") since 2005, adding our shared genealogy to findagrave from my husbands side of the family, and have connected with so many generous volunteers all over the United States who have located and photographed family headstones for us. We both try to return the favor when ever we are asked to, and are so grateful to findagrave for this service, which has added so much to our research. We never would have been able to accomplish so much without findagrave, and the generous volunteers that are members.

Most of my entries are relatives. If you are too, I would love to hear from you and compare notes. Please include "findagrave" in subject line with any correspondance.

Re: Benson
Good evening from beautiful Benson, NC! I must tell you I have been driving by the C.H.Benson Cemetery for almost 3 years and never saw it. I had to take the short ride down Hwy 50 to verify that the directions must be wrong.
Well, shame on me! If it got any closer to 50, it would be in the middle of the road. I am surprised no one has photographed the graves yet. There is one problem....it is extremely overgrown right now. I may not be able to enter until the weather changes and some of the grasses die back. I plan on photographing the entire cemetery when I can get access to the stones. From what I could see, some of the stones fronting the road are illegible and sugared a dark grey. There are two (?) tall monuments that appear to have some print, and a more modern type grave stone with the word "BENSON" in bold letters across the front.
I am itching to get in there. I will keep you posted as soon as the flora and fauna diminish a bit to allow for foot traffic.

Yes, you may, please give me credit. Are you related to him? If so, we could have family connections.

Hi J. Bean ~ Regarding Thomas Clayton Bates & wife Louella C. Kerr Bates Memorial # 58174096. They did have one child. Her name: Marjorie Jean Bates born 1923 in Salem, Oregon. She died in 2008 in Albany, Oregon. Thomas Clayton Bates was Emery Ray Bates, my dad's, half-nephew. Marjorie was buried at Orleans Cemetery just east of Corvallis, Oregon. Thank you for adding that to her parents Find-A-Grave Memorials.

Ethel Creed - Thank You!!
Thank you so much for taking the photo of my grandmother's headstone. I appreciate it so much. There is no connection to the people she is buried in between. I know this line very well. I expected her to be near her husband, Jesse Creed. He is buried in the same cemetery. I've wondered if there is a Masonic symbol on his headstone. I know his burial spot was given to him by the Masons.

You are so kind for doing this. Thank you again.
