I began tracing the SWEANY genealogy when I was 18 years old at the request of my grandfather, Clark Deputy SWEANY. It is a true passion of mine. It is the legacy I'll leave to my SWEANY family. Major family names: SWEANY (and spelling variations thereof), DEPUTY, RUDDICK, LEWIS, ARBUCKLE, BARNES, HUGHES and MONROE. Member: National Genealogical Society, Indiana Genealogical Society, Indiana County History Preservation Society, Riley County Kansas Genealogical Society. |
I've always enjoyed cemeteries. My little Maltese, Cody, and I frequent not only Tennessee cemeteries where we live but southern Indiana cemeteries also as my family currently lives there/all my family lines are from there and we visit at least once a month. If I can help with any pictures, please do a photo request and ask that it be assigned to me-that way I'll receive an email and won't miss your request.
From fellow Find-A-Gravers, Corey & Douglas Marshall-Steele, who were so kind as to take a photo for me, I use the message from their profile: "I am always happy to transfer memorials to the family to which they belong. The Golden Rule trumps the guidelines, and hoarding is just stingy and small." That pretty much says it all.
I wish you success in your searches and if I can help in any way, just ask!

Hi, this is the wrong Enos. There is no headstone available for this Enos. Please remove.
|Phil||Leiper's Fork Cemetery|
I am from Atlanta but was passing through Tennessee and stopped at Leiper's Fork Cemetery yesterday. I noticed quite a few very old and barely readable markers. Do you happen to know if all have been indexed somewhere and or photographed. Is there a complete list somewhere of all who are buried there. Thanks so much. I did find one of my ancestors William Henry Cotton.

|R. Gordon Trueblood||Hi RoxAnn|
James Trueblood who married Ann Morgan was the son of Joshua and Mary (Henley) Trueblood. James Trueblood who married Betsy Trueblood is the son of John and Mary (Griffin) Trueblood. I think the confusion is csused by the fact that James who married Ann Morgan is also the brother of Betsy Trueblood who married James (son of John and Mary).
Hi RoxAnne, are you any relation to John Dixon in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour, Indiana? I noticed you placed the gravestone photo on his memorial site. Am looking for descendants. Thanks.

Hello Roxanne, I'm sorry it has taken me so long to reply, I'm not used to someone researching a line I am interested in. My daughter in law Jill Henson is the granddaughter of Marjorie Anne Sweany. According to my research Marjorie's parents were Maurice Pierre SWEANY and Bessie Anne BOLLINGER. I could go on but I imagine you have all of the information. I plan on loading my 2 grandchildren up (with bicycles) and visiting the cemeteries in Jackson County.
Thank you again for being so thoughtful

Please delete Find A Grave Memorial# 63200991 from the Woods Graveyard in Jefferson County, Indiana. The broken stone belonged to a Franklin Woods not an unnamed female. Thanks

It's almost all buried but a small piece next to John, which I was able to get a better pic of his as well.
I descend directly from the Cottons. My great great grandmother was Martha Ida Cotton McGee, daughter of William and Martha Cotton.
I was wondering if you had any photographs of Martha Ida (She went by Ida). I do not have any photos of her.
Or do you know any one in her lineage that may have photographs?
Thanks so much.
