I joined "Find A Grave" for two reasons:|
1. For doing research on my family genealogy.
2. I have always had this unusual hobby of walking cemeteries. I think part of it is the sense of history that I get when I'm looking at the different dates and epitaphs, the other part goes back to my demographics training from anthropology. Looking for patterns to tell me how people lived (and of course died).
How appropriate that I would find an online database that would allow me to continue pursuing both of these hobbies, while helping others discover their own pasts as well.
I am more than willing to add additional information - just used the edit tab at the top of the memorial. I check every few days for any requests. I will also transfer memorials of non-family members to those who have additional information or are related to a person for whom I have created a memorial. I occasionally will do a spreadsheet for a cemetery, and I also tend to take photos of infants and young children I find as I'm walking, particularly those that were born and died between census' as I know they are hard to find any information for on Ancestry and other genealogy sites. Often times, I have no personal connection to these cemeteries or children, so if you do, just let me know.
If you would like to use my HEADSTONE photos for your research purposes, such as adding to a tree on Ancestry, please feel free. If you wish to use a PERSONAL photo I've attached to a memorial, PLEASE ASK FIRST as these are personal family photos and may only be used with my permission. Thank you.

Thanks. I appreciate the effort for my husband great grandfather
|William Fox||Josiah Skinner & Elizabeth Green|
This couple were my Aunt and Uncle. Elizabeth Green was a sister to my 4th Great Grandmother, Susannah Green, wife of Consider Fox. Their oldest sister was Mary Green, wife of William Fox. Two Green sisters married two Fox brothers. These Green sisters were the daughters of Joshua Green and Diana Carpenter. When Joshua Green died in 1786 he left his Will and your ancestor Josiah Skinner was made Executor. My e-mail address is email@example.com. I am William L. Fox. I hope you will message me as I think we could exchange much family history.

I apologize for just now getting back to you on the photos you took in Zion American Lutheran Cemetery. The arborvitae is extremely huge. It must have "attacked" you when you tried to take these photos. I'm surprised they came out as good as they did.
Thanks for the extra effort.
