I have been working on genealogy for over 30 years. My husband and I have always been fascinated with cemeteries. We live in an old mining town and was always told that our cemetery had many more people buried there than what the headstones (4) show. I have worked for two years trying to find all the names of all the people buried there. So far I have found 14 burials by searching old newspapers and death certificates. I enjoyed helping a friend with putting together a cemetery book with photos for several local libraries besides the genealogy library.

All memorials I put on Find A Grave I check to see if they are listed. Sometimes I put them on with correct spelling and later find that someone has them on with wrong spelling and then they change the spelling to make it look like I was wrong to put a memorial on. I think it is wrong that people put a name in Find A Grave with no cemetery and then later put it in and someone had already checked the cemetery and the name wasn't there. Yet the name only was put on first.

RE: America Haddox
You have America and Samuel Haddox listed in the Childers Cemetery, Wolfe Co., KY. This cemetery is located on Rockhouse Branch Road.

There are several Childers Cemetery in Wolfe County, but all are not posted on Find A Grave at this time.

America and Samuel are actually buried in the Childers Cemetery that is located at Gilmore.

If you would like to move them, here are some directions:

To move someone from one cemetery to another:

1. Go to the memorial and click on the (Edit Button).

2. You will get this screen: You are the manager of this memorial.
Edit:

o Burial plot
o Marker transcription
o Interment note
o Relationship information

5. Click on continue
6. Type in the names of the cemetery and enter
7. You will get a screen like this: Step 2: Choose a Cemetery for
8. There may be more than one cemetery to choose from but select the cemetery you want the person moved to. A trick I use is before trying to move a person is to look at the number of burials the intended cemetery has and compare it with the cemetery options.
9. Once you choose a cemetery, hit the Add the Name button

I hope you understand that I am just trying to see that the information found on Find A Grave is correct. I have been researching cemeteries in this ares for may years and just want people to be able to locate their family graves.

Thanks,
Kendel Culbertson

Re: Larson
Hi Leila, I apologize--I misspoke in my first message. I "sent" the Larson updates using the Edit button on the memorial. If you didn't receive them, I'll send via email. I wish there was a way to put a note or source info when you use the Edit button. :D Thanks! Laura

Larson
Hi, I sent you two updates for Mildred Larson. She is a child of Charles E Holbrook and Rose Fairhurst Holbrook, per the 1920 and 1930 census records. Charles and Rose had 5 children to my knowledge, including one who died prior to 1910 (an infant or small child). This will at least connect four of those children to their parents. Thanks!
