Bio and Links
Bio Photo I love this site! I appreciate the work of people who make these memorials and those who take the photos to match. Because of the work of others I have found several 'long-lost' ancestors. I don't know that I would have found them any other way. Thank you to all who have made an entry, taken a photo, made a transfer, or created links between family members.

I am a retired teacher and I live in Michigan. I have been making entries and taking photos of the cemeteries around me in several counties. I'm happy to make edits and links and transfers.

I'm not the best photographer around, but I'm learning as I go. Please feel free to use any photo I've taken.

Elizabeth White, Thomas Co GA
You have connected your Elizabeth to mine. Mine is buried here in a cemetery in Thomas County, Georgia. As is her husband. There are about 12 Elizabeth White's in Thomas/Grady Co GA. But you have the wrong one.

I am connected to the Barretts thru my Parker line, so I will try to help you find the right one. But, for now, pleae remove your Elizabeth from Uncle Henry and Aunt Beck. She is not their daughter.

Please let me hear from you regarding this. Email,

Hans Andrew Nelson
Hello! My name is Rena Jackson Sandquist. I'm a member of Find A Grave, but haven't been on in a long time due to illness.
Hans Andreas Lyngaas Nelson is my Great Grandfather. Are you related? Here is information I have from a friend who lives in Oslo, Norway. He was kind enough to research my Grandmother's family for me.
Grandmother Rena Nelson Jackson. I have the true spelling of her name. It's different from the above.
Hans Andreas (Andrew) Lyngaas (Nelson
Born Aug. 15, 1860 Christiania (now Oslo) Akershus, Norway.
Died: Aug. 3, 1957 Muskegon, Muskegon County, Michigan
I have more family history on this family line. I would love to have a picture of his and his wife Ovidia's gravestone. I put in a request, but no pictures yet.
I would love to hear from you.
Rena (I'm named after my grandmother Rena Nelson Jackson)

According to my records Lorenzo Keyes #58269682, 9 year old son of Solomon Keyes & Sophia Stearns, was born on 23 Mar 1824 & died on 10 May 1833.
The headstone picture is not clear so I was wondering if the 1818 death year on this Lorenzo is correct, then this is a different Lorenzo Keyes. Could you verify this for me.

RE: Pamelia White Quant
I sent you an email a week ago or so about Pamelia White Quant asking how you came out with the name Wight rather than White as my grandmother had spelled it.

You indicted it must have been a slip of the fingers.

Are you sure? I was not challenging you but rather I was seeking another confirmation that Wight was correct. Edinburg(h) New York is a very small town and the census' from the US in 1850 and New York in 1855 conflict. One lists Jacob (#79710714) and Anna (#79710712) as Wight and the other White. The gravestones are spelled Wight so I normally believe that family members know better than the government agents on how to spell family names.

Also, my grandmother lists Pamelia's parents as Jacob and Anna White. According to the census' there is no other Jacob and Anna in Edinburg let alone another Jacob and Anna Wight (I checked) so I'm quite sure they must be her parents and they are precisely the right age. I was just looking for confirmation from you that the spelling was correct as Wight.

Are you also related to the Quants?

Shields in Calvary Cemetery, Cheboygan
There are over 40 Shield names in the Calvary Cemetery, Cheboygan, Michigan, of which, none are updated or linked to their families. Would you consider transferring them to me for immediate processing? #48478376

RE: Charlotte Gaylord
Dear Laura,

You are most welcome. I was very happy when I saw your grandmas
stone. Those guys really did the work and on their own volition. Few
town agencies would go so far to make restorations

John Gaylord 1714-1778
According to the book "Families of Ancient New Haven" by Donald Lines Jacobus, John Gaylord was born in Durham, Ct and died in Bristol, CT.

While looking for Benjamin Gaylord, I found this information and thought you might want it. There are several pages of Gaylords in this book and if you are interested, I can scan the pages and send them to you in an email. The date range is 1641 to the mid 1800's. These books were written in 1923.

RE: Crawley-Futral Cemetery
I originally found the information in a book at Clayton Library in Houston. The title is _Cemeteries of Spalding County, Georgia, vol.1_, published by the Griffin Historical and Preservation Society in 1986.

I searched for it on the web just now and found that the society has digitized all five volumes of the set.

The link for vol. 1 is:

The CF cemetery is listed on p. A-9. The directions from 1986 are not as accurate now, but I was able to locate the cemetery while on a visit in 2011. If you look at the CF cemetery page here at Find A Grave, you will see it on the map - if you zoom in, you will see a little parallelogram - that is the exact location from GPS coordinates.
