If I have prepared a memorial for your immediate family member and you would like it transferred to you, please use the Suggest a Correction link located by clicking the Edit tab in the upper right hand corner of each memorial. In your message, please state your relationship to the deceased. I will consider distant family members, friends and totally unrelated people if you have something to contribute which I have not done already. |
Also, if you find any errors I have made, please use the Suggest a Correction link. I appreciate people helping me fix my errors. Also please send any additional information you have (including Family Links) and I will add it to the memorial. Find A Grave gives 30 days to make changes, but I try to get it done quicker than that. If you don't hear back from me within 3 weeks, please feel free to ask again.
Thanks to all who flower any of the memorials which I created, but especially my parents.
I love Find A Grave and I especially enjoy adding photos to memorials so that family members can visit their family member's graves at anytime. However, I ask that you respect my efforts. Please, do NOT copy my photos to ancestry.com without giving me credit. Simply indicate © 2006-2014 J.Sullivan on Find A Grave. I'd appreciate a note letting me know you have copied them. However, do NOT post them to other Find A Grave memorials. Just let me know and I will upload them. If you want to use them for commercial purposes or to create your own web site, that is not allowed under any circumstances. However, it is okay with me for you to post my photos of your friends and families headstones on Facebook as long as you link it back to the Find A Grave memorial. Please note that other members may have different opinions on this and you should honor their wishes. It is illegal to copy a photo without the photographer's consent.

Important admin notices posted in the forums:
Per Mark, the admin:
1. Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. You should however make every effort to locate the final disposition and update it as soon as possible.
2. See part 1. Not everyone in my direct family has been located and thus none of them are linked. I make notes in bios of those who have known locations. Such as "Son of X and Y" or "Also father of X". What I do is look for new listings and ask for updates when a generous member has finally found a missing relative.
3. No duplicates are allowed. Period.
This is Find A Grave and long-term unknown dispositions solely for the purpose of creating family links is outside the main intent of the website.
Per AJ, the admin:
Photograph the grave/gravesite "in-situ", or as it appears in that moment in time. The purpose is to show the grave as it is, be it dirty, cluttered, broken, or pristine. It is not your job to clean it, clear it, fix it, or decorate it. The graves are not yours to do as you please. Remember, one person's "good deed" just might be another person's vandalism. Go take lots of photos...but do it like an anthropologist and do not disturb the grave site.
Note for self, this is a link I might need to know how to make one day:

|Steve Trudgeon||Donald N Bastin - Memorial #25013706|
I tried to send you and edit request but I kept getting an error so I'm contacting this way.
After reviewing death certificates I've confirmed that this is not the son of Cornelius and Ethel Bastin. His father's name is Virgil.
Their son's name is Owen Donald Bastin and died in 1932. This is his memorial (94160952) and I've submitted an edit to link them.
Would you please unlink Donald from Cornelius and Ethel? If you'd like I can forward Owen Donald Bastin's death certificate.

Thank you for the fine photo of Mary's headstone, and the surrounding graves, and the explanation about no sign of her mother. I think I know the identity of Mary, but must do more checking. Again thanks; I appreciate it very much.

I believe that I have duped one of your memorials. Mary is my 1st cousin 3x.
Your memorial - Mary E. Moulton 23512466
My memorial - Mary Elizabeth King Moulton Stum Steele 169183832.
Reason for dupe:
Headstone is carved with surname of 1st husband, MOULTON, and was likely furnished by a child from that marriage. Levi Moulton died in 1919.
Death certificate, attached to my memorial, has surname of 3rd husband, STEELE. She was widowed after a couple of years & had no children by William Steele.
I have several links & hyperlinks (did not want to proceed with linking after discovering dupe - informational only). Can you please compare them & let me know what you think is the best thing to do.

Thank you so much for the picture for Harriet and her husband. I really appreciate you taking the time to do this for us. Thanks again. Linda Maret

okay found the info and you are correct! I've fixed it on the memorial now :)

I'm not positive but the obit I have on her memorial states she was a resident of North Salem at the time of her death so that's confusing! Need to look for a death cert I reckon ;-) If you find before I do let me know!
Thank you so much for photographing my great aunt's grave. She was my grandfather's sister and passed away long before he was born. It really meant a lot to me to see that picture. Thank you again so very much.

|Phaedra Swearengin||Virtual Cemetery: need obits|
I noticed you have a list of memorials you need obits for. I have, I think, a total of six for you so far.
Are there any that are more important to you than others?
I'm just going down the list - picking one here and there. I don't know why, but I like finding them. It's important that people are remembered. No one should be lost to history.
|Phaedra Swearengin||Jacob Drum|
I have the notice from the August 24, 1906 edition of the San Francisco Call that states "Jacob J Drum, 33, Berkeley and Meta D Wilson, 33, Oakland" were married in Oakland on August 23, 1906. Meta D (Niemeyer) Wilson is the widow of my husband's g.g. grandfather. I also have Meta Drum on the 1910 census as a nurse to the O'Hara family in Oakland. In 1913 a personal ad ran in the newspaper looking for "Mrs. Meta Drum" - that ad ran for about two weeks. I don't know what happened to her. Whether they divorced or she died. I don't know of any children from their marriage. I wish there had been.
I would be more than happy to send you what I have on Meta for your records if you are related to Jacob Drum.
