I came across this website and decided it was a nice way to honor forever those loved ones who have crossed my path of life at some time whether family, friends, co-workers or their families. I have also included quite a bit of information on my family (Rake/Raike & McCane) as it becomes available for genealogy purposes.
If by adding any of your loved ones I have overstepped my bounds or upset you that is not my intent. If you do not like what I have done please let me know and I can delete the information.
Please use the edit button for sending any requests for corrections or transfer.
If you have other loved ones you would like for me to add just send me their information and I will be happy to do so for you.
This comment below isn't mine but I saw how true it was within a short time of being on Find A Grave. I copied this to share from another member's site:
I think it is really a shame what findagrave has evolved into. What started as a noble way to link people with graves of loved ones they could never hope to see, and with the generations that had preceded them, has turned into a game for some.
Memorials have turned into a kind of "trading card", a competition of who can own the most memorials and post the highest numbers. What has been forgotten by many is that these are people, loved in life and death, not a commodity to be traded or owned.
My apologies to those that have pure motives. I hope there are more of us than there are of them.
You may use any of my photos for your own personal use or for posting to your tree on Ancestry.com without my expressed consent. You are not permitted to use my photos for commercial usage. If you do use my photos, I appreciate a note crediting me with the photo if you can. If not, no big deal. The whole purpose of posting photos is to breathe life back to the deceased.

|Bob Morgan||Ruth Morgan Owen|
Could you possibly delete this memorial as it is a duplicate to an earlier memorial? She is listed twice now. Sorry to be a bother.

Could you please link Ruth Morgan Owen (119418697) to her father (140004327) and mother (140004381)? Thank you.
|Karl Held||RE: Henrich Caspar Racke # 66914227|
Nice to hear from you again. Please note your birth and death dates for Henrich Caspar RACKE are slightly wrong. His place of birth was Albisheim, now in Donnersbergkreis, Rheinland-Pfalz, but this is not listed on the cumbersome system that findagrave use, so the closest you can get is Donnersbergkreis. Similarly his place of death is Bart Twp and Lancaster County PA is the closest you can get for that.
As for your entry for John George RAKE, this should be RACKE or ROCKEY, all of the Lancaster County RACKE became ROCKEY but never RAKE. As you know there are still a lot of 'researchers' linking amongst others a certain Abraham RAKE to the RACKE/ROCKEY of Lancaster County, when clearly there is no connection.
Wondered if you were related to Helen Burris. She is my husband's grandmother's sister.

My name is Richard Rake and Johann Jacob Racke and Caspar Racke are my relatives. I'm trying to research my family tree and the farthest relative I can find is Caspar Racke. Any further assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You are VERY welcome! And, I am flattered that you think what I have on my bio is valuable enough to share on your own bio! That makes me happy. :)
I just read your bio, and I am adding this to my bio from your bio:
"If by adding any of your loved ones I have overstepped my bounds or upset you that is not my intent. If you do not like what I have done please let me know and I can delete the information."
I really try to maintain dignity when I create a memorial. I never want to offend someone. However, I know that if I don't create the memorial, someone else will, so I want to get to it first and do it with dignity and respect.
Thanks again for your help with Charles Styer!

Greg, Thank you for providing the military research documents for Major Frank Alfred Lightfoot; they added greatly to his memorial. mrs

You have a photo posted to Omar that is a list of names from their high school yearbook. Do you have an actual photo of Omar or Alice (probably opposite page)? Also in that list 3 names above Omar is his wife-to-be Alice Mae Gardner McKibben!
