Retired from the US Navy in 1986, retired from contractor work in 2005. In June of 2008 I sold everything and hit the road as a full time RV'er! Traveled for one year then settled down and bought a house in my hometown, Wichita Falls, Texas. It's nice having roots once again.|

I updated Mr. Holder's bio this morning. As with so many of his generation, a quiet hero. Very much respected in my hometown. joe

Still no luck in finding Ruben Holder in Find A Grave. The grandson doesn't know for sure where he is buried at. Have to get hold of a remaining daughter-in-law she may know. Have to go through several other relatives to get to her. Found our Rubien in the SS death index. It shows him being born in Kentucky. DOB May 4, 1889 and DOD July of 1980 in Kentucky. He and Delphia lived in Metropolis Il which is right across the Ohio river from Kentucky. The headstone according to the grandson has Delphia inscribed on it but since she died in Texas it would have cost too much money to have her shipped back to be buried next to Ruben (Rubien). There is also his registration card for WWII and it lists his fathers name. I believe that Kentucky has his mother and fathers names listed on one of the records that I looked at today. They too were listed as being born in Kentucky. He may be related to your clan but you will have to figure that out. If I find anything else I will let you know.

Donald: I have been looking on FindAGrave.com for a grave marker for Thomas J. Holder who I understand was the son of Alfred and Mary Holder who are buried in the Daughtrey Cem. in Dade Co., MO. And it's my understanding that Thomas J. is buried in that cemetery also. I see on Ancestry.com that two people have posted a photo of the gravestone of Thomas J. Do you know anything about Thomas J.'s burial site? I have the memorial of his wife, Mary Jane Sloan Holder Daughtrey, who is buried in the Round Grove Cemetery in Lawrence Co., MO.
Thanks! Lynda West Hahn

You have done a wonderful job researching the Holder family, thank you. I am related to William Pryor Holder and his wife Emily Elizabeth Jordan via my 3rd great grandfather. Would you consider transferring William's memorial to me so that I can write his biography and link him to family members, or would you rather I sent you the information I have.

Are you any kin to my Grandma Lizzie Holder Reynolds #130263292 in Eagletown cemetery ? You will notice her Dad is listed as Mark D. Holder to which his name is Mark V. Holder , Even though in the family Bible it was listed as Mark D. I saw a letter he wrote great Grandma Ellen Ella B.Tyler? Holder in 1889 signed as Martin VanBuren Holder.
In your Holders in Texas site a Sidney is listed tha Mark V. Holder was a Sidney., I know that on the Reynolds side Grandma Lizzie's husband Earl W. Reynolds had a Dad named Sidney Reynolds. To which I have found a land record that shows a Sidney getting land around Gilllham, Arkansas, And A Sidney in McAlaster, Oklahoma I think in 1910, Do you have a Facebook? If you are kin I have Ancestry tree going. Trying to get it right, would love to be able to turn into a Book by end of this year.
This is what I have been told on Dewey, He is listed as a nephew to Lizzie Holder Reynolds husband. Earl W. Reynolds in a census before he moved to Texas. His parents drowned in a Wagon when he was a little Boy. He moved to Texas and a lady by the name Billie Mcellory followed him there and had him sign over all his stuff to Dora Holder ( lizzie's sister) and he burned up in a fire. Billie was married to Grandma Lizzie's sisters son.And she caused alot of problems in the family. That is all I know and have been told.
