Hello. Wendy and I live in the Memphis area. |
My career in the Marine Corps landed us here. After retiring from the Corps, we settled and are building the next chapter of our lives. Our children and grandchildren remain our first love, but we do have a passion for genealogy and history.
I am an avid military researcher and collector, and Wendy is a member of the Mayflower Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Daughters of Union Veterans.
In between our full time jobs, we enjoy researching and sharing our discoveries. We have enjoyed the richness and bounty our country has to offer largely due to the work and sacrifice of our ancestors. Thus as a way to honor them, we strive to preserve the history of their journeys. Participating in organizations such as Find A Grave allows us to do just that.
Bruce's family includes the surnames: Doeller, Felthes, Gumtow, Hachman, Hechley, Keis, Koppy, Linz, Paterlick, Probst, Ringloff, Salzl, Schmidt, Streitz, Urban, Wiener.
Wendy's family includes the surnames: Allerton, Burow, Clark, Cushman, Dawson, Dumerce, Eaton, Johnson, Jones, Judkins, Kraft, Miller, Moore, Pearcy, Priest, Rahn, Robideaux (aka Robidoux), Smart, Spencer, Stevens, Stewart, Walker, Weins.
If you have information about any of our families we would love to hear from you. Let's trade stories.
Any photos I post on Find a Grave are intended to be used. Please feel free to use the photos for your personal needs or documentation.

I appreciate all the time and effort you spend on this type of work. It really helps people like me that are trying to trace our family trees. Correct information is important.
I have never really understood why some people name a child, then go on to call that child by it's middle name all their lives. If they preferred that name, they should have given it as a first name to begin with. Ha! Oh well. To each their own I guess. But it does make it hard to trace people when they don't use their first name.
Anyway, thanks again for all of your help.

I got your message and I am confused.
Edward Henry Hormann is now linked to Tobias & Anna Hormann on the web site.
Tobias' dates are 1875-1934
Anna's dates are 1878-1957
Edward's dates are 1899-1975
which would make Tobias a father at age 24 and Anna a mother at age 21.
Please help me understand your email.
Thank you for doing this.

Thanx so much for get pics of Betty and Ben Rollins' headstones. I'm perplexed though on Betty and was hoping the headstone would have cleared this up. The date of birth does not match the date on the Death Certificate. I was hoping it would say 9 Jun 1898, not 7 Jun 1899. A mystery to solve.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this for me. I'm not sure if adding "unknown soldier" is appropriate or not. I'd like to check with my family to see how they feel about it.
