Hello. Wendy and I live in the Memphis area. |
My career in the Marine Corps landed us here. After retiring from the Corps, we settled and are building the next chapter of our lives. Our children and grandchildren remain our first love, but we do have a passion for genealogy and history.
I am an avid military researcher and collector, and Wendy is a member of the Mayflower Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Daughters of Union Veterans.
In between our full time jobs, we enjoy researching and sharing our discoveries. We have enjoyed the richness and bounty our country has to offer largely due to the work and sacrifice of our ancestors. Thus as a way to honor them, we strive to preserve the history of their journeys. Participating in organizations such as Find A Grave allows us to do just that.
Bruce's family includes the surnames: Doeller, Felthes, Gumtow, Hachman, Hechley, Keis, Koppy, Linz, Paterlick, Probst, Ringloff, Salzl, Schmidt, Streitz, Urban, Wiener.
Wendy's family includes the surnames: Allerton, Burow, Clark, Cushman, Dawson, Dumerce, Eaton, Johnson, Jones, Judkins, Kraft, Miller, Moore, Pearcy, Priest, Rahn, Robideaux (aka Robidoux), Smart, Spencer, Stevens, Stewart, Walker, Weins.
If you have information about any of our families we would love to hear from you. Let's trade stories.
Any photos I post on Find a Grave are intended to be used. Please feel free to use the photos for your personal needs or documentation.

I wonder, would you mind checking your sources for additional info on Eddie Tate, Jr., who is also buried at National (above)? Haven't had a chance to consult with the family, yet. I am not finding him at Elmwood or Memorial Park, with other family. Any help will be appreciated.

You are very welcome, would you like to add the other memorials since Arthur is the only one with a memorial at this time? Let me know and I will add the photo when you are done. Thanks.

Sounds like you went to a lot of trouble to make sure. I appreciate that. I have modified the mem, and Seedsofcuriosity has asked for it, so I am transferring. Happy graving, and semper fi!
In looking at Tate again, I wonder... The plot "C 267" was not added by me, but by the Office of Vet Affairs, when the memorial was originally created. If your photo is of a marker at C 314, we may have TWO JE Tates. If I have the chance, I'll go and look. If you are there before me, that's fine, too. VA created MANY memorials en masse, and it is very likely mistakes were made. I make lots of them, myself. I just try not to compound them by recopying. If the same error is reinforced too many times, some future researcher may decide it's not an error.

Thank you for posting photo for Tate. I have removed the bio I wrote and fixed the date and place of birth. It seems I jumped the gun on the bio info. The Tate I was looking for was. WWII fighter pilot, not a WW I pfc. Thanks for correcting that. He is not a relative. If you have further knowledge or interest here, I can transfer him, or maybe to "Seeds of Curiosity?"

Hi Bruce and Wendy,
Thank you for taking and posting the photos of Bruce's and Marie's headstones. Fine photos. Nice Work. Semper Fi.

I'm not upset I just wanted to know what was going on. I think Ancestry is going through and removing multiple memorials. I just want to know if something had changed and I would remove my picture if that is what you wanted.

I was wondering why you put a picture of Mrs. Breidenstein on her memorial. When I had already filled a family request before to put the picture of her stone on the memorial?
Thanks a lot for the photo.
