FAG has changed its policy regarding member copyright. Though I don't like that they did not continue to protect the copyright of their contributors in regards to Ancestry.com usage there is not much I can do about it. I STILL retain copyright to my photos and do not give permission for them to be republished in any form. That means NO to FamilySearch, that means NO to your personal webpage, that means NO to any other use by you other than attaching to your private family tree in your private family tree files on your computer. You may not use my photos to publish your book, send to family etc.

Whether you understand or agree with me about this matter or not, I have the right to make that choice for my work. I will not argue copyright with you.

***Transfer Request Rules LINK***
Please use the edit tab at the top right of the memorial you are referring to when sending updates, links and transfer requests.
(Please take the time to read the transfer request rules by following the link above). For the most part, I adhere to the transfer guidelines. I do NOT add link to a burial unknown memorial. This is FINDAGRAVE folks! Not "List Everyone Who Ever Died"!

NOTE: FAG FAQ say not to add cut and paste obituaries. In trying to comply with this rule I have turned down adding obituaries that have been sent to me. It has become apparent that FAG is adding these obits when people send them to edit@. Since FAG admins are adding I will too. Remove the names of the living before sending the obituary per FAG's "other" rule and the obituary must have attribution too.

NOTE 2: Before there was a rule against it. I added many obituary scans to memorials from our local newspaper from the early 1900. I have now attempted to go back and transcribe all of these into the bio area. Unfortunately it is very difficult to find ones that are not on my own memorials. If you find one please bring it to my attention and I will transcribe it and send it to the memorial manager. Thank you for your help.

RE: Photo request
Henry Davis Thompson - thanks for your reply to my report. I now know more about you and more about what is going on with request. It further brings me confidence to pursue request without feeling like being sent on a goose chase. I assume that when photo of request is taken if applicable. You will remove request as others wish not to take down request after photo is taken. Which has been the case with a few requests i have taken. Sure to some degree it is my fault for not further investigating requests. Another thing which was unclear is what other cemeteries might this person be located? As i might be in position to go to the other cemeteries as well. Top of the morning to you.

RE: Chester Williams links
I couldn't find a marriage cert. Here is what I found. 1925 Kansas State Census, Chester H Williams, 44, born in Canada, Mary A Williams, 41, born in Nebraska, Ora May Dyer, 16, born in WA, Edna E Dyer, 13, born in WA, Herald A Dyer, 11, born in WA, and David E Williams, 2, born in Kansas. The Kansas Census said they came from WA. By 1930 Mary A William was married to Franklin Ezra Turner. In 1930 I found Chester H Williams living back in King co., WA. His son, David was living under the name of David Dyer in the 1930 census with his mother and stepfather. In several of the public trees on ancestry.com, David Dyer is listed as David (Williams) Dyer, Find A Grave 609482. In 1940 Chester H Williams was living in Spokane, WA with his father & sister.

Hi Chuck,
Thank you for the info - I deleted the message on my board so my Mom will not see it. You are absolutely correct that I did not provide enough information to you - I knew my Grandma had no biological children & should have explained.
I hope you will forgive me for not providing you enough information?

It is important to everyone who uses Find-A-Grave to protect their memorials - it is a lot of work photographing cemeteries & I don't do it for free to assist a for-profit company-I do it for the families that do not know where their relatives are buried.

I have family members with memorials that Ancestry now controls & they refuse to transfer them, even though I have provided the linage & sources, because of the 3 generation rule. I trace back on many family lines to the 1630's!

Thank you for your help in deleting the message & for pointing out that I really need to provide more info on ALL memorial transfer requests. Gratefully Yours, Linda

I agree the marker info looks better in the note section, but I have submitted in the way you suggested and had contributors put the info in the biography section. After hours of research, I am thankful you added the info because my hope is that ancestors will be able to find their relatives and mentioning they all share the same marker is significant to this family group. Before I received this info from the wonderful photographer, I could not be sure it was my cousin on this marker because of 1.spelling errors, 2. Transposed numbers in the death date, and lastly 3.No mention in Find-A-Grave that the marker was shared...transcribed with 3 others. Thank you for all of your work, my enthusiasm is not meant to offend, and I will always honor the managers wishes.

RE: Victor and Marth Helt
Your response saddens me Chuck. Of course by the guidelines you have every right. In my own person belief I can think of no time when it wouldn't be preferable to have a family member tend to their own as long as they did so with honor and integrity. Thanks for all your hard work. I would not have known where they are buried without it. Terry

RE: C.E. Watson
Thanks for the updates on the Watson family plot! The photo showing the location of the headstones is helpful. I also thought the CEW marker could be Clara's, but more likely it is her child considering where it is located. The death/birth records for that area don't seem to exist prior to 1910, so there doesn't seem to be a paper trail.

I checked and it appears that there is a connection to the Clark family, but not until 1921, when Clara and Samuel's daughter Vera married Guy Clark. They did have a son James, but he lived until 1993. I don't know where he is buried as I haven't really explored Vera and Guy's family. There's a lot more research I need to do to see how everything fits together.

I also checked to see if any of Samuel's brothers lived in the area, and it does not appear so. He did have a half-brother Charles, but he was Charles Alvin Watson, and he still lived in Indiana as late as 1942 (I don't have a death date or place for him yet).

This gives me a lot to work on, and I will definitely let you know if I am able to solve this puzzle. Thank you so much for taking an interest and taking the time to go out to the cemetery!

Hamond/Hammond
Hi! I have submitted an Edit for the above person. Rev J. W. Hammond and his wife Mattie
You have him listed as Joseph W. Hamond
My Edit is based on my locating and photographing the marker(s) for him and his wife Mattie.
I will upload them probably tonight. Their last name is spelled Hammond on their marker.
