Happy Summer everyone! I look forward to helping you all out here in Washington State. Let me know if you would like some helps! |
Some have asked about my father - My father's service was this past week (July), and thank you all for your previous comments about Dad and his 14 year battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was a great Christian man. Full of kindness, very compassionate, gentle and humble. He will be so missed by all of us four children, 14 grand children, 20 great grand children, and 3 great great grand children. Dad -- Your legacy of family, love, and compassion, will live on in our hearts forever.
Dad is now pain free. My beloved Dad was Leonard L. Rodig, #164857784.
GREAT NEWS - Our Tombstone Project has been launched. What an amazing project we have begun, with adding markers to unmarked graves in our Snohomish County, Washington cemeteries! Thank you all for your interest in our project. We are looking for donations for headstones for unmarked graves! www.stillygen.org. Wonderful community outreach and focus on historical preservation! Stay tuned for future information on our project!
My love for family history came from my parents and my grandmothers, Elsie Stockham and Minnie Rodig. Both of my Idaho grandmothers wrote down birth dates and death dates, and kept detailed family letters. And Mother loved to stop by every country cemetery she saw, while on their camping travels. They traveled around the country looking for family graves and new relatives. And had many exciting stories to share, and met wonderful families.
When we discovered that the Oregon Trail went through our Stockham family farm in Idaho, my love of history grew. And with it, sharing stories of my family and how they came west. What brave families to pioneer West!
I continue to hunt for family lines and fill in the blank spaces. Some of the families I am researching are Allen, Rodig, Franklin, Stabbal, Morgel, Stockham, Jones, Lynch, Follon/Fallon, Spangler, Quick, Smith, Johnson, Sherrill, Ferguson, Hamilton, Davis, Crawford, Gardiner, Blick (deBlieck) and Hensley.

Tami, I'm going to transfer Nathan to you. Maybe he's a link for you & it's so much easier to work on it if you manage the memorial. I hope you find what you are looking for. Find A Grave has been an inspiration for me too. It's helped me get through some rough times & also has helped me keep my memories alive.

I have william monty jr. marrying Gladys hoback twice. once in 1918 they have a son joseph e monty
and then gladys married a PEARSON and then seemed to remarry William in 1939.
the grace you are referring to is GRACE B COVEY she too is linked to William but i don't know how.
louise monty maiden name was recktenwald my great aunt. I have a record of her marrying William h monty. and traced her to Washington. but don't know if this is same family.so louise mcquire could be louise recktenwald and they confused her maiden name with her mother. however john Stanley was not my louise recktenwald father.
recktenwald is a common name here in lake county, Illinois. and I am wondering if I traced the wrong louise !!! but if you find her let me know thanks.
I saw your memorial for William monty #132898511
I am trying to find his mother my great aunt...louise ann recktenwald monty. her kids and husband are buried in Everett, Washington but nothing on her. was wondering if you could check with cemetery to see if she is there???

Tami - Thanks so much for the photos and your effors! I'm not sure where I got the info for the memorials but did get the location from the office. If you find this is a clerical error, as suspected, let me know and I will delete my memorials. I'm inclined to do so with what you have documented thus far, but will wait to see if the Lanstad's did exist. Stephen
