Ron - This is not a memorial that you created, but I know you have done extensive research on Grice Cemetery, Upshur Co. Tex. I am related to the Dacus and Weatherby lines. I am attempting to linkup the ones that I can. I have asked this question before (can't remember who)- For Seaborn Weatherby headstone there is one that is engraved Born July 4, 1862 and died Sept 10, 1912, but I believe this is Seaborn Aldo Weatherby, who was married to Sarah A (Mathison) Weatherby Find A Grave #35910139 and he would be the son of Wade Hampton Weatherby. If this is correct then his year date of birth would not be 1862 which is date engraved on the actual headstone. Has anyone every questioned that before or do you have any explanation? If they are one and same, then his birthdate would be 1835. I would appreciate your help-big time!!! I am the granddaughter of Dezzie Weatherby Dacus. Thanks so much.

Hi, wanted to let you know that a link was created for Stephen Pleasant Hargrove on Feb 9, 2013. On April 9, 2013 it appears that you also created a link for Pvt. Stephen Pleasant Hargrove. It was pointed out to me by another Find a Graver that Stephen, he is linked by calculation to Nancy Ann Hargrove as her husband and her spouse. Don't know if it is due to the information on your site or mine, but I do not show him as a spouse of Nancy. Something triggered this, so hopefully we can work together to figure out the collective information we have and correct this. Another contributor called this to my attention.
The information you provided on your memorial for Stephen is very interesting, much more than we have. Would love to find out the link between my husband's family and yours if you are related to Stephen Pleasant Hargrove.
Thank you so much.

We are not related, however, we share a cousin from my Fleet family and your Mathis family...James Robert "Robbie" Fleet. I've been researching my Upshur Co., TX family for over 5 years. Other surname connections of mine are Fleet, James, Hoover, Sanders, Cadenhead, Hargrove, Hargrave and many more. I'm looking for information regarding a boarding house, circa 1902 - 1910, located not far from Hoover Cemetery and what was once Seago Crossing. My Great grandmother, Hattie Cadenhead Alston, worked there. If you should have time, I would appreciate you contacting me at: email@example.com . Thank you.

I talked to the guy at the Plumas County Museum and he confirmed what I told you. He said they were indigents, itinerants, laborers, gold miners for whom they were unable to
locate any next of kin. Some of them do have death or burial records at the Plumas County courthouse if you ever wanted to check into that. I see your Andrew was a miner, divorced and whose parents were already dead, so he would have fit that profile.
It is a lovely spot--nestled in the trees against a mountainside oveooking a wide valley and very close th Spanish Creek.
