RE: Sophia Monroe
I do not have an actual copy of Daniel's death certificate. This information is listed on FamilySearch.org

They did spell Sophia's first name incorrectly, but it is clear that it is nothing more than a transcription error. This could possibly be due to poor writing on the original document, or some inexperience on the transcriber's part.

Even if there is poor writing on the original document, the surnames would still look very different.

I had to change my tree last night.

Sophia Monroe
Ms. Nettleton,

I was doing some research on the children of Daniel G. and Sophia Monroe, when I came across their son Daniel Lee Monroe's death certificate.

He died in 1924 in Houston County, Alabama. It lists his parents as Daniel G. Monroe and Sophia Davis. This is in direct conflict with the surname that I have been told before, which is Dashwood. I would think that the name on the death certificate would be the correct one.

Please get back to me and let me know what you think.

Thank you for trying to find the gravesite in St. Thomas! I'm sitting over in Florida with few opportunities to get to your area of the country. So you've saved me lots of time, trouble, and expense.

My grave tomb
I noticed that you added a picture of the tomb of the Chanove. This tomb is for my father and uncle. Can you tell me whom you are?

RE: Frances Caro
That is disappointing but I understand. Do you think that the church could possibly still have records of the cemetery? I would have been surprised if you were able to find his gravestone and able to read it, since the grave is so close to the coast. Thanks for going out there and letting me know though. I really appreciate it!
