A little about me...I'm a amateur photographer/genealogist/findagraver as well as an extremely proud mommy to six children (3 girls/3boys) and 15 going on 16 grandchildren! One more due this year :-) I've been working on my own family tree since about 1994...not long after my Grama passed away...she raised me and so I do occasionally refer to her as my Mommy. Family that I am working on are Sanders, Denny/Denney, Cummins, Daglish, McCord, Heater, Galbreath and Lobb. I live with my best friend...my Ed as I call him! and our doggie, Jettie, and kitty cat Walter. I found Findagrave while researching our family and have been a die hard "Graver" since!
If someone has an issue with any memorial I am involved with please be polite and adult and send a note through the SAC feature and I'll gladly do whatever I can to make you happy! Leave me a rude hateful message and I'll first delete it and then forget about it. That way I'm returning the favor!!!!!!!
From Find A Grave's FAQ...
"The ultimate goal should be to have meaningful, accurate memorials that honor those who have passed away, regardless of who created the memorial or who maintains it."
I have no problem whatsoever doing any updates or links to my memorials and definitely will transfer if I'm not related and you have a direct connection.
I love being able to link up entire families as far back or forward as possible!!! It's like a big puzzle and I also love puzzles :) It gives me a great feeling to get one done! I always try to find a little information to add to the memorials that I create so that it is more than the mere fact that someone was born and they died. Sometimes I'm unsuccessful but believe me I usually spend some time searching before I give up! Stubborness I guess lol.
If I ever add a picture to a memorial that you would rather I didn't please let me know but I prefer to hear from the "manager" of the memorial

What a lot of work you put into identifying as many of those damaged stones that you could and getting them on findagrave. Great job!
|Ray Turner||Kenneth Mercer|
Thanks for posting the photo. It adds a lot to a memorial. I know some of the Mercer family but don't know if they are connected to him.
Colleen-Thank you so much for all of the updates~Laura.

Thank you so much again for the transfer.
I also love to connect as many of the family as I possible can,and add information about them if I can, as you said it is like a large puzzle.
Yes the spelling sometimes with a g and sometimes
not tends to make the plot thicken.
Add to that the fact several of them married their spouses cousins or other relatives.I was told when I was a child it is an obligation to take care of the family, especially widows and where there is also children to support and raise.
To complicate matters more, in the 1700s the two Lanman sisters married two of the Cummings brothers.
And of course they all used a lot of the same names for their children. If I was not already white headed I would be!!! But I do love Find A Grave.
Haven't found a Moses yet where our connection might lead. Don't know of any info I might have to share if I have anything I would be delighted to share with you

Thank you so much for the transfer of my gggrand parents it is much appreciated.
Truth be told seems to me the entire world watches everything I do, So I just don't do anything that gets me in trouble, As I said, I still have many obits still out there, but, I remove them as I come to them. I am elderly and don't need any one pestering me about these things. Like forgetting to put a period after an initial. It took me years to quit using them in a search on ancestry.com Also on anestry, com you have the cecsus thru 1940 and then after all these years, Find A Grave is still using the cut off of 1931. Thank you for understanding,

Colleen, I just got in from Frankfort, KY,(my second home). I have been told that the water is now off the roads. If and when you plan to come down to see the Brashear Cemetery in Perry County, IN, you can take your original route. That should be Hwy. 37 to Hwy 70, into Derby, where you will turn right on Hwy 66. Follow Hwy 66 until you pass the turn off to Rome. Take the next left, which will be County Road 96, or the old Addison Dam Road. This is a gravel road and is well traveled by local fishermen so be very careful. You will take this road for 2 to 2 1/2 miles, where you will find a sharp right curve. There will be a barn or shed on each side of the road. The cemetery is on the right side, right before the little barn, on the top of the road bank. You will need to park and either walk through the field behind the barn or climb the road bank and cross the wire fence.
My grandson and I are are going out this morning to clear the brush and brambles. We will only be there until about noon and so far I have not heard from the other bunch that was going to help. Will keep you informed and will send pictures when I can.

I would love to add the obit, but, Find A Grave does not allow this. As a matter of fact I still have several out there and when I come across them, I remove the full obit. Please read below. Thanks, W
From our Contributors Tools, Frequently Asked Questions.
Can I add an obituary to my interment listing?
You should not copy obituary notices from newspapers (or from funeral home notices or web sites) to an individual's memorial record unless you have permission from the newspaper to do so or you are the author of the obituary. Some obituaries that were published in 1922 or earlier are now in the public domain. In general, obituaries in newspapers are submitted by the family with assistance from the funeral home. If the obituary is added to the memorial record, it should list the newspaper and date the obit was printed for example "Published in the Hattiesburg American, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Internet Edition, April 11, 2007". Please do not include the names of living or surviving relatives in the biography, unless you have their permission. If you do not have permission to copy an obituary to a memorial, you may put a note stating the name of the newspaper and the date the obituary was published.
Please do NOT add photographs from obituary notices (unless you, personally took the photo), as they are protected by copyright law. Find A Grave reserves the right to remove obituary notices and photographs from memorial records. Similarly, you may NOT scan an obituary and add it as a photograph to a memorial record.
Obituaries for "famous" individuals are usually written by newspaper staff and can not be posted to Find A Grave as the newspaper company owns that copyright.
Please do not include website addresses that may be listed in the obituary as they usually expire within a year after the obituary is printed.

You're more than welcome to transfer her care to me if you like. I was very moved by her story, thus the reason I sponsored it. I will see if I can do some more research to find positive proof of her burial location.
