I was born in Montgomery County MS but now live in Baldwin County, AL. Many of my relatives are buried in Montgomery County, Webster County, Carroll County and Choctaw County, MS. Some of the families I have been researching are Lemuel Dacus, Joshua Garrett, Reason Evans, William Wallace Garner, Thomas Grantham, Eli Dendy, Anderson Austin, Charles Poole, Washington Jackson, Phillip Carroll, Daniel McDonald Slaughter and Tristram Thomas. I am in possession of one of the rare, out-of-print books titled "History of Montgomery County." There is a wealth of information in this book about early settlers of Montgomery County, Choctaw County, Carroll County and Webster County. I am happy to share info.

RE: Latham Families of Montgomery Co., Miss.
I have a copy of Choctaw County, Ms. Families. And the Webster County, Ms. Families. I would be glad to look in them for any of your family.

RE: William Garrett (1763-1844) in Warrior Creek Cemetery
Hi, Patricia. I removed my comment from William Garrett's page since Mr. Hawkins who placed the wrong photo there has now removed it. I don't really have a lot of information on William Garrett's wife, whether she's Nancy Ross or Nancy Bramlett. I do know that, as you mention, Sarah married Nicholas Ware Garrett, and that Sarah had a sister named Nancy. Much of the information I've found is that William Garrett married Nancy Ross, the daughter of William Ross and Martha Stowe. But, errors pop up all the time - it gets so confusing. Are you related to Alpha Louise Bramlett, daughter of William M. Bramlett and Mary Vaughn?

Mary Ann Adams Thrailkill
Hi Patricia!
I see that on the Memorial page for Mary Ann Adams Thrailkill, you posted a photo of her. Would you by any chance, have a photo of her granddaughter, Irena Frances Thrailkill Milner, daughter of William Carroll Thrailkill? I have been looking for a photo of her for decades unsuccessfully! Any help you could give me would be very much appreciated!

RE: Re: Garretts
I'm related through his daughter Sarah Garrett. My relation goes on through a female line: Mary Beulah Chesteen, Clara Mae Kemp (who married Stewart Garrett), and my grandmother Mamie Ruth Garrett. I have at least 3 lines of Garrett that I know of and my DNA came back matching relatives of Jonathan Joshua Garrett. It's been fun doing the genealogy.

I'm so glad you wrote. He was my 4th great grandfather, so it's good to hear from family. I was wondering about that. I'll go ahead and delete it, so we don't have a duplicate. Thank you.

RE: Mary Obsitnik
I knew very little about George, I never met him. My mom talked happily about the time, as a child, she stayed in Arkansas with him and his family, though. I was more closely acquainted with Uncle Johnny and Aunt Toni, Aunts Bertha and Suzie, and with Uncle Marty and Aunt Mary. I did hear of Larry, but don't know any more than what you had said about him being a writer for the paper.

Silly thing I remember, but Uncle Johnny, who was something of a comedian, had a parakeet back in the early 60s, who used to swear in Slovak, and always would call out, "Where's Hillbilly George"? As a small child I thought that was hysterical, and that was how I first knew of George, although I think we have a couple of old photos of him and possibly his son Larry as a child, somewhere here. I just moved away last week, though, so all that is packed up.

Mary was my grandmother. Not sure I can tell you much. She died when my mom was 12 years old. so I never met her. I did know some of her brothers and sisters though.
