George Sutton
Thanks for changing the name on this memorial. I am still skeptical of the parents you have listed. What leads you to believe they came from that area of England ?
I think Robert and Mary Sutton of Biddenden, Kent Co., were George's parents. Biddenden is very close to Tenterden, where we know George resided as a young man. This is listed on the ship's manifest for the Hercules of Sandwich in March of 1634/1635.
This fall, I stood at the baptismal font at All Saint's in Biddenden where a George Sutton, son of Robert was christened in Dec 1606. About a year earlier a Robert Sutton and Mary Austen were married at All Saint's.
Please let me know where your information comes from. Thank you.

Philip Waltz
Hi Wayne,

Philip Waltz is related to me through my Williams/ Ordel lines. Philip's parent's were Joseph Waltz and Catherine Elizabeth Williams. Peter Williams and Rosanna Ordel were Catherine's parent's and Philip's grandparents. Is it possible for me to download a copy of the picture you posted of Philip and his wife Zelda and baby.

John Conger

I am also a descendant of John Conger and his wife Sarah....via Benjamin Conger to Daniel Conger to Abigail Conger. I don't see where his name is listed as Belconger, but I would greatly appreciate any documentation to that fact.

I have John Conger's will transcript right here in my hands.

His actual DEATH DATE is January 11, 1710/1, and the will was PROVED August 27, 1712.

The will transcript can also be found on now, at this link...

Also, I can be contacted at If you contact me, please tell me in the subject line who the email is in reference to. I get many emails, and don't quite know where to begin with some of them at times.

George Sutton
Could you please tell me the source of the birth and parentage info you have on George Sutton, who came to America on the Hercules in 1634/35? I descend from his son William.
We have just returned to USA from a research trip to Kent. There is no baptismal record for George in the Tentenden register. However, we did find that his wife Sarah Tilden was baptized there.
A George Sutton, son of Robert was baptized in nearby Biddenden in Dec. of 1607. His parents were possibly Robert Sutton and Mary Austen, married there Oct. 13, 1606.
There were at least 3 Robert Suttons in that parish about that time. Are you sure of the Essex connection ?
Thank you,

Hi - I saw your message on the memorial page and wanted to let you know I found a wonderful pix of your relative while doing research - I added the flag and source of the pix. I hope you don't mind that I posted the picture. It's always a treasure to find a picture - especially if it's one that you may not have seen before? If you'd rather have it removed, I would - please let me know. It's from a Marine Corp book - of people who served aboard the US New Jersey. I scanned the picture from a copy I have.
