Unknown we are to each other...through time our paths have crossed...so as we visit one to another...know as family you shall never be lost.

I consider Cemeteries to be outdoor museums.
I am proud to be referred to as "The Family Historian."

THE CEMETERY PHOTOGRAPHER

Wandering among the stones I see
The stones so weathered and worn
‘Tis difficult to find the date
On which the babe was born

I stare at the stone and am struck with awe
At the life that I knew was gone
This was someone's child, a babe so sweet
With loved ones to carry on

So I take a photo for all to see
For the family that remains
An everlasting memory of
A child of God's domain

I brush the weeds back from the stone
And say a silent prayer
For the babes that had no chance to live
And for mothers everywhere

The dove calls out it's mourning song
Among the stones so still
Echoes of the woes, through time
The choirs of despair

The stone will someday perish
The flowers will be gone
But a photo now remains of this
Their memory lives on!

And so my friend, don't hesitate
To film the weathered stone
Those who live within your hearts
Are never truly gone.

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7

Was not my intention to "steal" it. I'm sorry you're so upset. I just wanted to put the memorial up and used the info I could find. I'll take it down of course. She was married to my great-uncle by the way. Once again, my apologies.

there was already a Find A Grave memorial for her #125547974. Just not correct cemetery. you should merge or remove yours as it is newer.

Recently you transferred 2 memorial to me, those of Wendy Joan Strickland and Brian Wesley Adams. I would also like those of my parents, Ralph C. Strickland and Marjorie Jean Hewes Strickland. They are located right beside Brian and Wendy. Thank you!

Hi - Cataloging an entire cemetery...that's an amazing amount of work. You deserve a gold star. I'm sure there are plenty of grateful researchers & family members, even if they haven't told you so. Have a good one. Regards, Phyllis

RE: Samuel McCrory
Hi - I found the info in the Marriage Column of the "Wide West" which can be accessed on the Calif Digital Newspaper website http://cdnc.ucr.edu

The site includes, LA, San Francisco, Sacramento, Marysville, etc. papers. I wasn't able to find an obit for a McCrory in 1859 on that site, which isn't surprising as about 80% of the site is in need of correcting. I'm currently working on correcting 1856 birth, marriage and death columns. That's how I found Samuel's marriage. Since it took place in Suisun Valley, pretty good assumption it's the same Samuel.

If he's related and you have the time, you can enter the word "died" and search through 1859 died columns. It's a job, but you might find some good info.

Regards, Phyllis

Thank you for all the work you have done. Brian had a rare form of lymphoma that progressed into leukemia. He was allergic to the chemotherapy drug that would have been most helpful to him. Thank you for caring.
