Bio and Links
Bio Photo I found Find-A-Grave (aka FAG) accidentally, but I love the idea, hope that it always stays free to the public.

If there is something I've posted that you question, or are concerned about; please contact me. I'd like to get the information on the memorial as correct and complete as possible.

I try to use as many sources as possible (that I can get to) to get the information correct; such as Cemetery records, Church Records, Funeral home records, County records, State records, obituaries, & from the families; but I know mistakes can be made. Please let me know.
One problem that comes up a LOT, is duplication; since I work mainly from church records, I have no idea if indeed there are 2 cemeteries; or 1 cemetery with various different names that were used over years; both instances have occurred. But what is the right answer?? I have found 1 person who has two stones in 2 cemetery's in 2 different STATES; but where is the body actually?? Or a different person entirely? I can't tell you because I don't know. I have found where a person was buried to start with, then because of changes for example; dams, family wants to move them, I try to keep as much information, to note the 1st burial (disregarding the date when entered into FAG) as a memorial and make changes to show they were here now have been moved to here; very important for tracking family moves throughout the years.

Myself? I am researching for my own inter-related family branches as well; Bahr, Baker, Hays, Keyes, Kussmann, McLaughlin, Meeker, Shaw, Visger, and Walker (up to great-great-grandparents and all their siblings so far).

I found a statement about links that is similar to my own beliefs. Myself? I believe in adding information as found because others might not have that particular detail that will help them. I have requested of Melaney Friesen Shaum to be able to use it and with permission, here it is:

♥ *ღஜ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ஜღ* ♥ *ღஜ Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ ஜღ* ♥

Let's help the next family member or researcher that visits a memorial by adding all the family links that we know. When family members are not linked, it makes the next person do the research all over again. Also, if we have the information, let's use it before it is forgotten.

I also believe that family links make this site easier to use. The easier it is to use, the more it will be used and the better it will get.

I will remove my new memorial and forward the photos to you. However this whole thing is absurd. My original memorials preceded 2012, and the other party has had me delete a number of them, and the information is now lost. I do not live in Ohio and the markers were crumbling at that time. They might not be there seven years later. The last one I added was Thomas Hanthorn in January , 2012. He really belongs with the people who are doing the research. I have no connection to him.

What I also cannot explain is what is going on with the new memorial I just posted today. I simply placed the first and last name, and the photos. Nothing else. Two hours later it had major alterations and additions to the names, dates, etc. I did not place those, nor authorize any corrections. I cannot explain how this occurred

I had to remove my private email address from my profile as I am getting overwhelmed with messages from this person. If you have yours listed perhaps you need to edit your profile to protect yourself.

It would take me several pages to relay the endless drama inflicted upon me. I have gone "above and beyond," as I would for any Findagrave member, but the situation has become ridiculous, with endless demands, etc. Transferring the memorials did no good. I too am at the end of my patience.

RE: Elizabeth Hardesy Colvin Hanthorn
I am glad you finally realize I was right. There was definitely a problem with communication between us. Along with research in the rest of the family I have sources which are satisfactory. A genealogist once said if you have 5 sources you should be good. It is difficult to communicate in this public arena and no good way to send you what I have. You did not realize she had remarried. I have researched Elizabeth from her parents, siblings, up to the current generation.

Hopefully if we ever have to communicate again, we can come to a meeting of the minds in less time.

This is the site of a family history - Elizabeth's sister, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth, married into this family.

Would you be so kind as to tell me who the parents are of Elizabeth Hardesty Colvin?

Of course, you know I do not have a wedding notice.

I do have a Census Report for 1850, Perry, Allen, Ohio, Roll: M432_657; Page 297B Image 599 and Page 298A; Image:600

This shows Elizabeth Hanthorn Age 40 and her son, William, age 16 in the household of Thomas E Hanthorn. Many of his family are buried in the same cemetery he and Elizabeth are buried in. I would like to know where exactly the gravesite you have for Elizabeth Colvin is located. Family history has them married in 1840. James Colvin passed away in 1838. Thomas Hanthorn's first wife (m. 1832) died in 1834. There were no children. The 1840 census shows him with a wife between 20 and 30 and a male child under 10.

There are family histories telling of the marriage, listing parents, siblings, etc. on both sides of the family - Hanthorn and Hardesty.

I am really thinking at this time you need to furnish proof she is not Elizabeth Colvin Hardesty or perhaps I need to take this to Find A Grave with a grievance.

RE: Elizabeth Colvin Hanthorn
Is there any way you could send me your e-mail so I might send attachments which are proof that - unless she is a completely different person that what I have proof for - should tell you she was married to Thomas Hanthorn. Many of the Hanthorn family are buried in the Westminster Salem Cemetery including Thomas Hanthorn. The Hanthorn family lived in the Lima Ohio area for many years (including my grandparents) and there is even a Hanthorn Road. I am not impressed by $$, but by facts.

Apparently you want more information but it is not easy to send that info when you do not use an e-mail address. I have much info on her incl. family info. I read your reply to EddieM. I have been indexing for Ancestry Archive Project since Sep. 2013 and using Ancestry at least as long as you have been working in Find A Grave. I am also working in Find A Grave but as you probably saw in the transfer of mail with Eddie, I do not set up new memorials. However, my mother is Ethel May Hanthorn, daughter of Fred Earle Hanthorn, granddaughter of William Hanthorn. Milton is my 2nd GG. George is my 3rd.
Milton is the brother of Thomas E Hanthorn. What exactly do I have to send you to ease your mind. And how do you propose I send it? I merely asked that you add Hanthorn to her name - it is the last name of her children. Have not come to the relationship with a President. I dislike public messages for this reason.
