Bio and Links
Bio Photo Hello. Wendy and I live in the Memphis area.

My career in the Marine Corps landed us here. After retiring from the Corps, we settled and are building the next chapter of our lives. Our children and grandchildren remain our first love, but we do have a passion for genealogy and history.

I am an avid military researcher and collector, and Wendy is a member of the Mayflower Society, the Daughters of the American Revolution, and the Daughters of Union Veterans.

In between our full time jobs, we enjoy researching and sharing our discoveries. We have enjoyed the richness and bounty our country has to offer largely due to the work and sacrifice of our ancestors. Thus as a way to honor them, we strive to preserve the history of their journeys. Participating in organizations such as Find A Grave allows us to do just that.

Bruce's family includes the surnames: Doeller, Feltes, Gumtow, Hachman, Hechley, Keis, Koppy, Linz, Paterlick, Probst, Ringloff, Salzl, Schmidt, Streitz, Urban, Wiener.

Wendy's family includes the surnames: Allerton, Burow, Clark, Cushman, Dawson, Dumerce, Eaton, Johnson, Jones, Judkins, Kraft, Miller, Moore, Pearcy, Priest, Rahn, Robideaux (aka Robidoux), Smart, Spencer, Stevens, Stewart, Walker, Weins.

If you have information about any of our families we would love to hear from you. Let's trade stories.

Any photos I post on Find a Grave are intended to be used. Please feel free to use the photos for your personal needs or documentation.

RE: George Seile
Hi Bruce:
The reason you can't find him is because he is buried in NASHVILLE! :)
Apparently the VA entered him wrong. This is confirmed by the Nashville NC register and the VA Nationwide Grave Locator. Sorry for the hassle; I'll get the grave location corrected ASAP.
I've also removed the photo request.
Thanks for the heads up, Marine!

Can you please look at memorial 159354766 and let me know if the information is correct? If she is related then I can transfer her to you since you have other relatives. Thanks! Laure

I wanted to thank you for taking the time to get this picture for me. I was only a baby when my father passed away. Now that I am older and the rest of my family is now passed away, I find myself searching for more information on each of them regularly. I can only assume that it is my way of keeping them close. I now live in Florida and I'm unable to go to the cemeteries anymore. So I do very much thank you for taking time to do this for me.

Wm (Washington) Brown/Co F, 57 Ohio Inf.
Thank you for the heads up. I found the old records on ancestry when I just searched under death, obits only and not a general search. I was looking for my ancestor Washington Brown, same co. and regiment, same cemetery. Everything matched except the name and plot-kind of a big problem.  The old book showed section '1' (you were right), plot 76 crossed out in red, and 4722 written in, as the plot is noted on findagrave. So Washington's first name was William evidently. I am fairly certain no family member has ever visited his grave, so I appreciate you honoring him until I can get there in person.

Thank you again.

Bessie McOwen
Thank you very much for fulfilling my request. There were two brothers, and each one married a Bessie, so it was easy for one to get them confused. I believe Robert Kahn McOwen married a Bessie Lee Cummings, not Bessie Mae, I believe. Robert Kahn McOwen was my grandfather's brother. Now I am really confused, too.I truly appreciate your quick response to my request.
