RE: Edgar Lee Vanderpool
Bill, I found the Vanderpool family in the 1930 census. Sure enough there the three of them were - Clarence, Thelma and Edgar. In 1930 they lived in Charlotte. In 1935 they lived in Wilmington, NC. Then, they lived in Laurenburg. That is right. Clarence and my father worked for the same trucking outfit and the company moved to Laurinburg.

According to the census info, I can only believe that Clarence returned to the family.

According to the census, Edgar was born in Virginia.

RE: Edgar Lee Vanderpool
Thanks for responding to my email. I seriously doubt that Thelma ever remarried. She was quite ill when we were neighbors. My mother spent a lot of time with her giving her care. About the only time she ever left her house was when she had to take Edgar to Charlotte to mend a broken arm.

I think I will try to track them down via the census records.

Take care,

Edgar Lee Vanderpool
Another clue for me is that his birthday was March 28 and mine is April 8 - same year - 1928.

Edgar Lee Vanderpool
Hi Bill. I knew Edgar Lee Vanderpool. He, his mother and father lived immediately behind where I and my family lived in Wilmington, NC. We were neighbors for 5 years.

His mother was a sickly person and my mother spent a lot of time with her. His mother's name was Thelma.

His father and my father were friends.

Sadly, his father deserted the family when Edgar and I were in either the 4th grade or 5th grade. We went to St. Mary's Catholic school in Wilmington.

By chance do you know what ever happened to Thelma. I know she was a very sickly lady.

Yeah, I've looked at my ancestry. People make themselves younger, older, and maybe they just don't know. It's a mystery!

Re: Lillian Gudeth
I took a photo of Dale Gudeth's Niche, which had him interred with Lillian Gudeth, 1930-2007. I added the picture to her memorial as well, since she would seem to be his wife, but noticed that the online memorial lists a different cemetery and birth year, although still Dale's wife and same death year. Do you want to leave the picture up? I imagine you can delete it if it is inaccurate, if not let me know and I can take it back down. Thanks.

RE: Martha Jane Minton-Vanderpool
Bill;

I didn't document where I found that she died in 1901. Sorry..

Sincerely;
