My husband and I have been researching our families for over ten years. Most of this was done the old fashioned way by visiting archives, libraries, courthouses, elderly relatives etc. When we began there was nothing available on the internet, not even census records.

The way we did it was great fun. But now it is much easier. There is so much on the internet --definitely not everything-- but a lot. Since discovering Find-a-Grave, I was able to locate a couple of people in my own line that I had not previously managed to find. Now I want to help others by being involved in the project of Find-a-Grave.

I try to take good pictures but sometimes because of the conditions, etc. they do not come out as I would like. If anyone gets a better picture than I have put up, just let me know and I will remove mine.

Hello, I was wondering if you would consider adding your photos to the Louisiana Gravestone Project? We are not in competition with Find A Grave. We are just solely about Louisiana and are trying to save this small portion of her very diverse history. Your photos are so nice and we would love to have you help us. Please check our site out.

Thanks, again
It was kind of you to make the name correction. I am not sure what the "right" way is to do that. It's not like I want to tell people how their name should be spelled!

Thank you for the memorial for Thelismar Lanclos (104755758) and his wife. I'm sure that you noticed that the name is misspelled Lonclos on the tombstone.

I found this Lanclos by accident. Do you have any idea how to make a notation on a name that is incorrect, so that it is more easily located?

Thanks for the correct cemetery. I have moved my Find A Grave that I put out in 2008. The other one with the headstone was put out in 2012. So he would have to delete his copy.

Re: Claude Enright
Hi Louise,

Claude Enright might be buried in Baton Rouge Military Cemetery. I didn't create Baton Rouge Cemetery that I remember. With him being in the military, it is possible he is in a military cemetery.

Wiliam G Bell
I think I got the cemetery corrected for William G Bell and it shows him added to the main list of Wallace Cemetery in DeSoto Parish. So, I think you can ask findagrave to delete the Wallace Cemetery in DeSoto Parish that I created by mistake and only has William G Bell listed. I corrected all the info on my ancestry record for him also. I'm not sure how long it takes for ancestry to record the change. I had not added the findagrave record to my ancestry record of him yet and I wanted to add the findagrave record onto my ancestry record. So I did a search on William G Bell from the hints section and it shows a findagrave record still listed wrong in St John the Baptist Parish. I don't know how to correct that on ancestry search. I really don't want to leave my mistake out there to confuse other researchers. Can you help me with this or do I need to contact ancestry to help me? Thanks again for your diligence in keeping the research documentation correct.

William G Bell
I received your email suggestion to change my pic and info for William G Bell in Wallace Cemetery to DeSoto Parish just south of Shreveport. My pic was listed in Wallace Cemetery in Saint John the Baptist Parish in error. So Sorry for the mistake on my part. I changed the record to reflect the correct cemetery, but it didn't add it to the main list of those buried at that cemetery. It made another list with only William G Bell. I am new to genealogy and all the websites like findagrave, so I am not sure how to get William Bell onto the main list at that cemetery. Can you help me with this so I have it done correctly for future searches by others? Once I get this done, I need to update my printed notebook to reflect the correction. Thank you for your diligence in keeping the records correct. I am a member of a local genealogy club and am serious about correct information and documentation. This must have been a late night, blurry eyed oversight.
