Thanks for that quick action in adding the additional Civil War info. I requested a merge where you keep the credit because I heard? we're not supposed to delete dupes because of broken links. There are some tokens that will be moved when the powers that be can get to it.

Thanks for the help,

Corp. Redman Moyer
Hi Janet ~ thanx so much for linking the parents of Corp. Redman Moyer, from info sent to you by SMPowell, which I had relayed to her.
It's so nice to be able to work with such wonderful people to get the families 'united!'

Reply to Question
The marker #O 4233 has nothing but the plot number and is unusual, of course, because it is not the standard "unknown" marker used in that section and all those near by.

RE: Chattanooga National Cemetery
I have an old book downloaded on pdf. on page 616 "History of the Twenty-Seventh Indiana" I found a John B. Clapsaddle, sixth corporal, wounded at Antietam, mustered out with regiment. He was on the original Roster of Company I.
I hope this helps

Chattanooga National Cemetery
My grandfather was killed at the battle of Resaca May 15 1864. There were 11 soldiers from his unit killed there. Thomas B Gregory, John R Keller, Reuben Hendrickson, Francis Betchman, George T Chapin and Barney Cullen's remains all found there way to the Chattanooga National Cemetery. My Grand father John Meek, Henry A Moyees, Anderson Dickart, and Hamilton H Asher I cannot find where they were buried unless there on the battlefield. But, one of the eleven he was buried at the Jonesboro City Cemetery. I'm wondering if you would know if my grandfather's name is mentioned anywhere there at the CNC.

Sever Severson
In his diary. There is a picture of the diary on If you need let me know.

PHOTO DATE: 8 March 2013
DESCRIPTION: This is a photo of Sever Severson's 1864 small, leather bound diary recording events from January 1, 1864 to his death from dysentery in Atlanta in October of 1864 while serving in the Union Army during the Civil War. He was 35 and left behind his wife Martha and five daughters. The fifth daughter, our great grandmother Celia (Cecelia) Severson Leary, was born two weeks after his death. Sever's diary was apparently returned to the family and eventually passed down to Celia. Celia had two daughters Mary Leary Marks and Julia Leary Frey. Julia ended up in possession of the diary and it has been in our care since. We plan to have the diary digitized and thereby made accessible to other descendants who may be interested. Mary Leary Marks wrote a wonderful autobiography titled: Looking Back. 1977-1892. Autobiography by Mary Leary Marks. In the copy that she passed on to her sister Julia, she slipped in the piece of paper below that is scanned which provides a very good description of the diary's contents. One thing she doesn't mention is that his wife Martha Field Severson began to use the diary again in 1880 back in Black Mounds, Wisconsin to record expenses of supplies for the home. - Nancy
I will put it on Find A Grave site.

Josiah Kepler; 77256183
I am confused by the dates of death, please explain this to me. The memorial for Josiah Kepler says Date of Death is 6 Sept 1864.
Then below it states date of death is 09/05/1867.

RE: Foster Lewers
His wife Sarah is buried in East Springfield Cemetery, Ohio WITH Foster being buried with her. They are buried together in the same plot. I have seen several sources listing him as being buried in that cemetery, NOT in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Its obvious he is in BOTH cemeteries. But he seems to be buried with his wife Sarah in Ohio, and the memorial/gravestone in Tennessee is just a cenotaph. So both would be correct then and he does have two memorials.

RE: Foster Lewers
I dont get how he can be burried in two different cemeteries in two dofferent states.

According to Jefferson County Chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society and Civil War Grave Registration Cards, he is buried in East Springfield M.E. Cemetery in Jefferson County, Ohio, Section A, Row 7.
