Bio and Links
Bio Photo Nancie's husband has given me permission to manage her memorials. If you have requested a transfer in the last several months, please send the request again. The email for her has been changed and will no longer go to Nancie's old email. All of her edits have been accepted and I will be transferring her memorials as requested. If you wish to send condolences to her family, you can do so on her memorial page. Any messages left on this page will be forwarded to the family.

Thank you,

Pat Millican

My first love is genealogy research (my husband says it is a sickness) however, anyone that does research will understand that "sickness" ! :)
My hubby has left for work in the morning - leaving me at my computer - in my pajamas and when he comes home at night - he finds me - still there - in my pajamas, unwashed face etc. ha ha But I have to say - he is very understanding about it. My second love is wandering around cemeteries, enjoying the quietness, listening to the birds, wondering about the people there; who they were, where they came from, what their life was like..etc. It helps me keep my sanity in this crazy world we live in now.

RE: Miranda M. Griffin
Dear Pat, Yes, please transfer the Old Roswell Cemetery memorials managed by Nancie to id# 47754775. We are working to transfer memorials to family members as we become aware of them.

Thank you for helping with this.

RE: Miranda M. Griffin
Dear Nancie,

Thank you so much for your message about Old Roswell Cemetery. I haven't responded until now, because I didn't have a good answer. But now I do. Juliette Johnson is the Co-Chair with me for the Roswell Historical Society Cemetery Project. She is in charge of the Find a Grave database for Old Roswell.

I'm very sorry to hear about the passing of your friend. Yes, we would like to have the Old Roswell Cemetery memorials transferred to Juliette Johnson. Her id # is 4775475. We are in the process of locating descendants and asking them if they would like to manage their family memorials.

Thanks so much for your offer.

RE: J. H. Whitley #18666856

Thank you for maintaining Nancie's memorials and I am sorry to hear about her passing. I am trying to eliminate two duplicate records that were created for J.H. Whitley. I can ask the other person to remove theirs - I just thought the photo on the other memorial was better since the gravestone was still upright in it.

Sorry to have disturbed you.

Lovetts, etc
Hi Pat - yes, Nancie was a cousin by marriage. I'm both a Whitfield and Byrd descendant. I have a Byrd Grandmother as well as a Whitfield one. I know so sadly we lost her in May, but her beautiful spirit remains. I'm related to a lot of the people in these memorials and am working through them. Tax time is slowing me down some, then a little vacation from our business.

I do have Martha's connections and will ask for those memorials I have records on to manage. I'm related by marriage and know her lineage.

You are correct --they should be with someone with a connection, a relation who cares and who will work on their legacies. Thank you and very kind regards to you, Nancy

RE: Miranda M. Griffin
Hi Pat,

Re Miranda Griffin at Old Roswell Cemetery.

I am not a relative of Miranda Griffin. I am the chairperson for the Cemetery Project of Roswell Historical Society. We are in the process of updating all memorials at Old Roswell. If you would like to transfer management of Miranda Griffin's memorial to me, that is fine.

Sorry for your loss of your friend. It sounds like she was very dedicated. Her work will help so many others.

My mistake! Didn't know that Nancie had passed away and that you had taken over her page. I hope you get this message and my previous one.

I have tried to contact Pat M. who you transferred these grave to. Her email doesn't work anymore. You placed these people in Myrtle Hill Cemetery but they are actually located in Oak Hill Cemetery in Rome. There are pictures of their grave markers as well. I think the memorials in Myrtle Hill should be eliminated. Let me know if you agree. Thanks, Jenny
