RE: Andrew J Thorp
1850 Marion Co KY census has Andrew Tharp/Thorp at age 20, 1860 census age 30. He and brother Huston both died in the war.

RE: Jacob Baldridge
I sent her a note so I hope she responds. Has to be the same guy. The Cherry Fork marker must be a cenotaph.

Hi Janet - Thank you for finding out more about these soldiers. Every now and then I get on a tear about them. My great-grandfather (father's side) and three of his brothers served in the 70th O.V.I. so that is my interest. From the Bio, which I copied in full from Thompson's Historical Collections of Adams County Ohio, Vol II pg. 187, I would guess that he was taken to a hospital or at least a field hospital but I can't say for certain. Maybe the only way to find out would be to get his full service record from the National Archives.

On a side note, my 2nd great grandfather on my mother's side served as a surgeon in the 52nd Georgia and was at Vicksburg. He was later stationed at a permanent hospital near Augusta, Georgia. I've long thought it interesting that my ancestors serving on opposite sides often found them selves on the same battlefield.

I think I have at least one unknown at Marietta. Joseph Tener, a brother of my great-grandfather on my father's side. Find A Grave Memorial# 77218226

Thank you, Gail

RE: Hezekiah Peterson 120606472
Jent,
Hezekiah's mother applied and received a Mother's Pension and I have copied documents from Fold3. Hezekiah was a cordwainer...i.e. shoemaker. It appears three of the boys in that family were shoemakers. Thanks for linking him to his parents.

Hezekiah Peterson 120606472
Janet,
Thank you for posting a memorial for Hezekiah. His mother Martha Peterson applied for a Mother's Pension in 1866. I have added dates for his birth and links to his parents via the edit button, if you would please link him to his parents.
Thanks,
Ann

Hi Janet! I was thinking about my 3x great-grandfather Darwin Callaway today and came to visit his virtual memorial. You have done such a great job with this! I just want to ask that if you ever decide to stop managing his memorial, would you please think of me when transferring? I'd love to take care of his memorial, but you are doing an awesome job and I wouldn't have found his grave without you!!! :) Thanks so much for all your hard work. -Amanda Stowe :)

Nelson Sims
Hi,
I was just wondering if you were related to Nelson. If so could you share any information.
I believe he is related to my husband. I am trying to see where or if they do connect.
Thanks,
Vivian

29th Ohio burials on the field at Pine Knob, Ga.
Hello Janet,

I wrote a book about the 29th Ohio Infantry published by the University of Ohio. The book is titled "The Untried Life." I am now working on a follow up book. I'm curious to know where you found the information about the condition of the grave(s) of the regiment's fallen at the Battle of Pine Knob, Ga. in June 1864. The soldier you had mentioned lying with this group was Thomas Davis. He is buried at Marietta National. Your reply to this would be much appreciated---James Fritsch. My email is jamesfritsch@earthlink.net

Samuel M Hanlon's memorial
Janet,
Thank you so very much for notifying me. In the process I corrected Oliver's memorial as well. I have sent the links to Samuel's parents and will remove the duplicate memorial as soon as he is linked. Working together is the best way to get these things right.
Charlene
