Hi Janet, Find A Grave#2989133 Chattanooga Nat'l Cem for John F. Monroe, this man has been confused with a Pvt John F. Phillips Co B 1st Regt East TN Infantry, he became ill & deserted to hospital in Bowling Green, kY, he was ill most of his 3yrs in service, as of 1864 was listed as deserter - never returned...per family history he returned home & a disagreement insued & he left & the family never heard from him again...I shared this with #47799116 tonight.....hopefully this can be straightened out....I just wanted to give you an FYI....Gail Hinton Seward #46961204

Marietta National Cemetery
Friday last week, my husband and I went to the Marietta Cemetery and the Veterans Parade. LOVED that cemetery! Just wanted you to know :-) Hope we can find where my family is buried now. I can't seem to find any from Company C in Chattanooga, yet. I've been going thru the records on Ancestry.

Hi Janet,

Would it be possible to use John Becker's photo in my family tree on Ancestry?

Thanks for the consideration!

Robert Wilson
I have just found your memorial. I am doing family research and I am certain this is my 1st cousin 4 times removed. I know he was born in 1840 and his parents and siblings names.

RE: William P Irwin
Janet if you could hold off linking him to Eliza I'd appreciate it. I finally found the 1850 census for his family. William P. is listed as Patterson Irwin in 1850 so that must be his middle name. I need to do more research before he is linked to a mother. According to his brother Jared's Illinois death index their mother's name was Jane McCullough. I'll let you know if I find further info.
Thank you!

RE: William P Irwin
William P. Irwin's mother was Eliza Jane, she went by Jane in some censuses and Eliza in others. George Irwin married Martha after Eliza Jane died. He had no children by Martha. George Irwin came to the US about 1840 from Ireland. We think he first went to Philadelphia then to Ohio where several of his children were born & from 1860 on he was in Mercer county, Illinois.
Thank you for putting William on Find A Grave!
