|I work in crisis care in law enforcement, trained extensively in debriefing following an officer-involved critical incident. Additionally I am a published poet, and see myself in the mold of the warrior poets of old. Perhaps that is fanciful. If so, I will keep my illusion. It's cheaper than therapy. Had you seen the things I've seen, you'd find a pressure release too. Walking among the headstones helps keep perspective, don't you agree? They remind me that we are all on a shorter tether than it would seem.|

Loved your comment about the difference between a common thug and a gallant train robber. So true !! Your sense of humor is spot on !

"Mr. Selman, your descendants, who have commented here, seem to be decent, honorable people. I guess it takes a little dirt to grow flowers. (You see, as an officer, I have been on the wrong side of guns like yours). Tell Wes I said hello."
I am a Find A Grave contributor and when I read a historical piece involving homicides and such, I go to the site and look to see if anyone has entered their burials and if they might have added some historical notes attributed to that person's passing. If so unheralded, I will create an entry if there is enough info to locate their grave.
Hence when I saw the current ads for a AHC series on: Old Outlaws in the West. I looked up the career of ole Hardin to see if any of his "notables" had been so memorialized. Found the entry for his slayer and then read your note included above.
Hope you are familiar with the term "LMFAO" cause it was my reaction when I read the "...dirt to grow flowers." congrats sir for your insight! Then followed with: "...hello to Wes!"!
Retired NY State Police Sergeant, fortunately avoided such craven "desperadoes" during my twenty-one years.
Thanks for your humor, wish you success in your career.
