Bio and Links
Bio Photo I am slowly working on photographing Ascension Cemetery because it is closest to my home. I am not related to most of those buried there. I consider it my contribution to the find-a-grave website as a return favor for those who have photographed entire cemeteries far away, greatly helping my own personal family research.

I've been side-tracked lately with photographing Loma Vista in Fullerton. Done with photographing the Northeast, Cypress, East, Rose and Grandview Lawns in the older part of the cemetery. Currently working on the Evergreen Lawn. Mostly what I consider "mass production" by sweeping the stones, taking a picture and posting memorials just to get the names out there.

Hey Lesa, I do this cemetery once a week. As you know the Catholic Cemeteries are not so nice about giving out locations. If you would get the locations for me I will be pleased to get this request for you. I have a couple I will be asking for in Ascension when they are marked. I would appreciate it if I can ask you for them. Respectfully, James

James and Lorinda "Daugherty"
Hi Lesa -
I have been reading the 40 journals left behind by my g.g. grandfather, James Eliot. The journals span from 1880 - 1920. James Dougherty was a friend of James Eliot and he mentions him often in the journals. On January 9, 1918, James noted that "James Dougherty died yesterday." He and his family attended the funeral in Fullerton on January 10, 1918. I tried to find James Dougherty on Find A Grave, but he didn't come up, which surprised me. I decided to look for Doughertys buried at Loma Vista, and found several - all related. Although James and his wife Lorinda's headstones say "Daugherty", you will see by the list of family, that the family name is Dougherty. I have submitted an name edit on both of their pages.
As an extra point of interest, you will see that James' youngest sister, Margaret Virginia Dougherty Knott, was the mother of Walter Knott (Knott's Berry Farm). Both Margaret and Walter are also buried at Loma Visit. I have added an edit to James' Bio noting that fact.

I hope you'll consider changing James' and Lorinda's names to Dougherty on their pages.

James is Find A Grave #108045518 and his wife Lorinda is #108045492

Bill Stephens
RE: Richmond Godfrey @ Topeka Cemetery
Cemetery records do show he is buried here, but there appears to be no grave marker. I did post a photo showing the location of his grave and was able to confirm that by checking the neighboring names.

The Hurst photos, Aunt and Uncle Bill

Find A Grave # 14247056 and # 14247083. Thank you for visiting Aunt Jo and Uncle Bill Ö I bet the cemetery was awesome with all the flags. One favor, I like Uncle Billís photo better than Aunt Joís. If you would, could you post that one on hers too? Iíll keep them all, Iíd just have that one below her portrait.
