I started my genealogy searching when I retired and my sons gave me an OLD, pieced-together computer so I would have "something to do". Games soon got boring, but I got hooked on the real search. I have found cousins that I thought were lost and found many more I never knew existed. |
One of my sons received a book about his paternal grandmother's family and we had such a huge tree, we had to make two separate trees on Tribal Pages. Have traced one of his lines back to his 6th great-grandfather, John HART, signer of the Declaration of Independence. Other ancestors back to France in the 1600's, the Hugenots. And others back to Holland about 1390.
I have now raised 4 sons and 3 grandchildren,the youngest, was 20 in May. He is in the Army & just came home from Afghanistan. Two sons were in the Navy, one in the Air Force. My granddaughter was in the Navy and is now raising my two beautiful great-granddaughters. My husband and I were both Marines.

I think I have the children figured out. Stone is hard to read. It does say children of E.F and M.A. and there are several children listed on it.
Let me know if you think there needs to be any other corrections.

Thanks Chris for the photos and the updates. The Seglers are extended family, but I wouldn't mind managing their sites if you wish. I once lived in Hope, up the road, in Arkansas. Never knew I had family that close at that time.

It's always nice to hear from people like you who have lost loved ones who I helped find through this find-a-grave project I've done. I photographed every headstone in all 11 cemeteries around Mount Carmel and made sure everyone had a memorial to them. That part has taken me almost 2 years. Find-a-grave guidelines states that we are allow to make a memorial if no b/d dates are on the headstone or if that person's birth date is on the headstone and it is before 1931. That's why I made one for your Aunt even tho she may in fact still be alive. If she is alive, she or a family member can request it be deleted which at this point you must now do. If she wishes, she may keep the memorial as is and be linked to her husband,it is up to her. If you have any other transfers you want, just send me a direct link using the Edit button on the upper right hand corner of the memorial. Glad to have been of help in your search and as I always say with a transfer "Treat them well, for they are a part of your past history". Merry Christmas back at you. Sincerely, Robert Miller

Would you please consider transfering management of Leighton M Cornett to me, since he was my father. Please? Thank you very much.

Should have looked at your page first. Seeing you were a Marine provides understanding as to why quality is as important as quality. Thanks for serving and thanks to your husband and family as well. VR. Mags.

Chris, the thanks belongs to you for not only the original post but the update. I've got some I sent back in February, and the owners still have done nothing, even with several reminders. I'm proud of people like you who not only take the time to put up a memorial, but ensure the quality of the record is maintained as well. Thank you Very Much. VR. Mags.
Thank you for bringing the error to my attention. I think I have it correct now. Please double check it and make sure. I want all my work to be excellent.
Have a great day!

I am no more qualified to identify her from a photo than anyone else, sorry. I never knew her in life.
|Nancy Abraham||RE: Willie Belle Brooks|
Chris, thanks for the offer but I'm not related either. Had found an obit for Willie's father made a memorial for him, found his wife, etc. and started solving the puzzle. Take care of them until a family member comes along. Thanks for all your work--it's a peaceful time for husband and I to stroll, especially on a fine day.
