Bio and Links
Bio Photo I live in Waterford, Michigan and have been researching my husbands family, Rice, King, Starling, and James, from Randolph County Arkansas. Also, my own family the Brendel's, Sanford's, Houghton's, Munson's, Hudson's and Seeterlin's, Sole's and Desnoyer's, from Oakland County, and South East, Michigan.

My husband Mike "Doc" Rice is a Vietnam veteran, serving during 8-1967 thru 8-1968 with the 1st Cav, 1-8 Division, Jumping Mustangs Co D and HQ Company. We are trying to locate anyone who he served with.

RE: Photos from Greenlawn Cemetery
Mrs. Rice,

I contacted the brother of Henry Earl Thomas and he promised me faithfully that he would find a picture and get it to me. On two occasions I checked with him to get the picture, but he did not come through.

I'm very sorry that I could not help. Good luck!

This young man died in the Vietnam War. He was from New Washington, IN. I have not been able to locate an Obit on him or any other info at this time.

Hi,I had already decided to see if I could get a newspaper obit for him.Next week I'm going to call the veteran's agent for Holyoke. The Holyoke Public Library has good resources. This was a project that I started 4 yrs. ago-I was curious about the burial places of Civil War soldiers.I can't ignore a Vietnam Vet since my brother served over there.I want to go back to Ancestry to see who ordered the gravestone marker.I have a friend who takes great pictures,so we will be going back to Forestdale. There I found 8 people from my family tree.

Would be more than happy to take the pic. Depending on the weather I will try to get up there asap. The earliest it could be is Sunday or Tuesday of next week. Hang in there it will get done.

Yes, I am very surprised there isn't a military stone since the government provides those. I suppose no one applied for one.

Hi Sue,

Happy Holidays! I think I have found the family of Henry Earl Thomas. I will make every effort to obtain a photo for you and I will get back with you as soon as possible. Probably, if no sooner, after the Holidays.

Have a great Christmas, while remembering the reason for the season.

Mac

Greetings! I did look for him in Garden 8 but did not find a marker. I want to double check with the office to make sure I was at lot 55 according to the Garden 8 map before I mark him as having no stone. Stay tuned, but I do not believe he has a marker. Thanks, Pamela

Hello Sue,
Thanks for the tip. I contacted the 'owner' of the page as you suggested and he changed the order of the photographs.
