|Spanish American War||4-01-15|
Thank you for all the virtual entries honoring veterans and especially for those among the railroaders who served in the Spanish American War. If you ever, in your Civil War meandering, find Jackson Bond, Edward R. Henderson, or Stephen H. Stokley (the Southerners who chased Andrews Raiders aboard the General), please let me know.

You are very welcome. He and his wife are resting in a lovely spot. If you ever do come to the Fraser Valley drop me a line.

Hi Mike, I just happened to find M Theresa while searching for your other people. No, I don't have her obit but can take a look at the library for it. By the way, beside Theresa is a headstone marked simply "Canning" and it reads "Born in Ireland". I wonder if that is a relation. The cemetery office was closed or I could have called to ask them who it was. As for Theresa being a nun... the Ursuline Sisters have their own burial area in St. Anthony's and she isn't near it at all. But who knows, perhaps she is connected to the Cannings and wanted to be buried near them. Not the normal practice though. Let me see what I can find out.

Yes---I am a Sarnia girl, born and bred and proud of it! I live in London right now but get to Sarnia as often as I can. I plan on moving back in the near future. It's funny---when I was taking the Waller pic today I was thinking that the name was familiar somehow---now I know why!
|Susan Burks||RE: Christiana Carden|
You are more than welcome.
Marywood Cemetery has many interments without a headstones or markers. There are a lot of concrete headstones and/or footstones with no lettering nor dates; just the stone or rock.
:~( However, I went to the Historian who documented Marywood Cemetery and also, spoke with the Historian at Tyndall Air Force Base and both have the list (which you see on Find A Grave which unfortunately has duplication of the interments names). They do not have a record of precisely who was buried in all the unmarked grave. :~(
The good news is that at one point in time, someone knew where Christiana Carden was buried (exact location) and placed a marker with her name, born, and died dates. There are a total of five located in Marywood Cemetery with the same marker style as like Christiana Carden.
I hope this information helps you. If you should have additional questions, please let me know.

I have located two other Carden graves in Bay Co., FL. One is for the infant son (William Ira Carden) born and died in 1919. Parents R I and Lucy Carden. The other grave is for Catherine "Cookie" Carden 1941 - 1989. If these are of interest to you please let me know and I will send you further information. pat

|Libby Talley||Linking of Mildred Fason Ward|
Do you have any photos of Aunt Mildred? She's my great-aunt by marriage. Her husband, Earl Ward was my mom's mother's brother.

Iam the Great-great grand daughter of Elijah Barnie Hall and Rachel Melvina "Dolly" Cole Hall. I would love to know what you have on them and will be glad to share what I know. Berry G Hall was my great grandfather. I noticed that you have Charlene listed as his daughter, however she was not his child. He did have a daughter that died but her name was Mary Emma. She was my grandmother's sister. I don't know where she is buried...I think somewhere around Seminole Ok.

When you see 'Inactive', it usually means the graver has passed away themselves. Or perhaps they just stopped working on Find A Grave memorials. So here is how to get transfers:
Send an email to: email@example.com
Subject line: Inactive Graver - Please Transfer
Then in the body of the message put your name and member # for them to transfer to. Below that list the name & # of the memorial(s) you'd like transferred.
It may take a while, but you will get an email when the transfers take place.
