To keep weeds out of the beautiful Find A Grave garden....

First, I don't link to Burial Unknown Site Memorials as BU shouldn't be on FAG according to the guidelines of the website. The first criteria for making a memorial on FAG is having the burial site, as this is a grave registration site. When you made a BU, you have a chance of losing the memorial to the member who "Find A Grave" in the cemetery.

Second, I may or may not transfer outside of the guidelines to an established member. It is my choice. Long-time hard working-members, who are busy in surveying cemeteries and taking grave photos impress me more than someone who is collecting others' memorials for their personal goal or waiting for someone to find the burial sites for their numerous memorials made with an "unknown burial site".

Lastly, there are no duplicated memorials on FAG. If I find a duplicated memorial while researching this site, there is 99% chance that it will be deleted or merged eventually.

You may disagree with the guidelines but remember the guy who started Find A Grave wrote them. He is the boss.

Many of the memorials transferred to me were done without my request for them. These memorials have found a home and will be nurtured.

Also, thank you for all the flowers and tokens left on my family's memorial. They are all sincerely appreciated by me and my family.

Remember to check on the Discussion Forums here. They are very newsy, helpful and interesting!

RE: Thanks for the photos
Sure, I got the color photo from her obit. I knew it was the same but thought you might like it better than the b/w. I will delete and post the close up on her headstone this evening.

RE: More...
Thank you, Linda. It will take me a little time to be able to verify all of them, but I will get it done. I have already found a couple that weren't duplicated, but trying to actually make sure they are where I think they are. Thanks again, Janette

"Obit for Ava Morris Lewis b.1957 d.2004 states that her parents are Daughter of Dorothy Tyler & Luther Anson (dec'd) Morris." Could you send me a copy of the obituary? I think I'm a bit confused on this one.

RE: Thanks for the photo
Actually what you are seeing is concrete that the plaque is set in. Normally I would have cleaned that area, cut away the grass etc. but at present its a bit hard for me to get down to do such things so I try to do my best without having to bend the knees and back to much...

RE: Thanks for the photo
Hello Linda,
You are very welcome. I am glad I am able to help out. I am going to Greenlawn today to take a few more photos. I believe I will be able to complete the cemetery in about three more trips. There are more graves there than I originally thought. It is a nice place to walk.

Johnny

The other memorial has him buried in the wrong cemetery but I have asked the memorial manager to please correct it and I will delete the memorial I made later in the correct cemetery. I took the photos so I am positive that he's buried at Meeks cemetery which is right beside Woodlawn! Thank you for pointing out the duplication!

RE: bio left with flower again
Hi Linda - thanks. I am sending them as edits now. A lot of the older ones I didn't do it that way.

RE: Eliza Sapp
I have checked my notes for confirmation of her maiden name. I have the Thompson, but I did not document the source. In 1850 Lowndes, she an Levi are living next door th William Thompson family...which I know proves nothing. I found a photo on Ancestry with a hand written caption which ID Levi and Eliza Thompson Sapp. the photo was posted by genealogyfan who is a Find A Grave member.

I checked the death cert on GA Virtual Vault of the children of Eliza and Levi to fin listed parents. No luck. No luck with a marriage record for Levi and Eliza. Please disregard my request to change any of her name info. When I can verify, I will contact you. Thanks for your help.

BTW, Cook Co marriages are not listed on GA Virtual Vault nor Ancestry.com. It appears that you might have an interest in the Sapp Thompson names. Cok Co Marriages BK I hasWilber L Sapp married Willie R Thompson on 20 May 1923...just in case this info is helpful.

Thanks for your help.
