Cooperation is never so valued and when it is needed and not available. This site has proven again and again that cooperation, even in the simplest of things, can have long-reaching positive results - especially for those of us seeking connections.|
Thank you findagrave.com and all findagrave contributors!

Hi, Addison and Mary Jane are my 2nd great grand parents, then Wilton is my great grandfather.

I wonder if you might have any advice for locating specific graves? Sometimes the pictures have landmarks or the gravestones are unique enough, but I went searching for one of my ancestors near me and even knowing what the gravestone looked like, I was unable to find it. The cemetery is decent sized with over 10,000 plots. I imagine someone somewhere keeps track of that stuff.
Thank you in advance. Have a great day.

Thanks, I'll keep a look out and let you know if I find anything.
You're absolutely right about the variety of spellings and misspelling of names. I've come across so many variations in building my family tree.
While looking for information on him in Revolutionary War records, the closest I've found is a "Hans Jost Schnyder". As well as a bunch of other "Schnyders". His son Abraham Schneider/Snyder is the first time instance I've seen (in my family line) of the name changing.
It's possible while in the war he used a different name or a different name was recorded. I'm hoping to be able to find out more when I visit the cemetery.
Have a great day!

I submitted an edit for "Yost Schneider" 1744-1822.
After examining the photo of the gravestone - which I plan to visit in person in the coming weeks - it looks more like a J as in Jost. He had several brothers also named Jost.
I'm trying to find any information on his involvement in the Revolutionary War. In the photo here there is a medallion that looks pretty new. I'm not sure who would place that there, be it a Veterans Group or maybe another family member.

Thanks for your work on Jonathan Lesley. It is great to remember and honor our Civil War vets!

You're most welcome,glad to help.

Thank you for your help in correcting her memorial dates. But what is odd, I do not remember making this memorial. Can I give you this memorial to you to manage?

Hi. I always feel bad about asking for a duplicate to be deleted. I hope my message didn't come off snarky - though I often am, I didn't mean it to be.
I thought you were very polite in your request and I respect your wishes. If Mr. Fair does not respond in transferring the photo I will delete anyway. Please inform me in a week or so.
|Jim Fair||RE: Jacob Runkel|
I switched the photo as you requested.
