Hi Betty - I noticed something on the headstone that was created for Sarah Ridenour in Rose Hill Church Cemetery. It appears that her birth and death dates have been switched around. The newspaper index gives her information as - Ridenour, Sarah, 87y 11m 24d, b 14 Sep 1803 Summerset co, Pa; d 08 Sep 1891. (This is info from Pat O'Dell's obituary index of Page County, Iowa.) If you do the math, it comes out pretty close (off by one day to my calculations) if Sarah's birth was September 14, 1803 and death September 8, 1891 instead of what is on the created stone "born Sept 8 and died Sept 14." I sent you an automated update to change the dates but I wanted to let you know why I was sending the update : ) Let me know if you have any questions : ) Thank you!

Thank you, Betty, for updating and linking. It is truly appreciated. It just thrills me to see family members linked! Find A Grave is a wonderful tool. Bev Dunn, Cincinnati
No, I am not related to Dr. Gowdy. I came across the Gowdy graves while photographing graves of my family in Michigan. The Gowdys were such an important family in the area and so well documented that I couldn't resist linking to other existing graves after I published the pictures that I found. There are records of the family going back to before the American Revolution.
The family developed a lot of the summer resorts along lower Lake Michigan where my family summers. I had never heard of them until now.

Hi Betty: I have some birth & death dates for some of your memorials, but did not want to type it all out if you are not able to fill in some of the "unknowns" at this time - I will put some on John Barr and see what happens! - please let me know.... Cheers~ Shirleen

Betty, Maybe I should have given you more information on how we are related. My paternal grandmother was Grace Eleanor Houser Caton. So I guess we are related through the Houser Family!
|Deena Gibson||RE: Armstrong|
Thank you for responding. Loyce Templeton Armstrong is my 3rd cousin.

I had requested a photo of her headstone & also Cleal Armstrong, both shown as being buried at Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland, Iowa. They tell me there is no record of them at this cemetery. Are you sure about this being the cemetery for them?
