RE: Damons at First Parish Cemetery, Norwell
I just recalled that there is a Norwell Historical Society in might search by that name and find their home page with information on how to contact them; they might be able to help you locate the cemetery index you are looking for? Linda

RE: Damons at First Parish Cemetery, Norwell
My source is personal observation. I see Davis d. 5 Nov 1888 at Boston (NEHGS Database), but no cemetery is listed on his death record. Davis m. twice: 1) Lucy Damon 18 Nov 1838 at Scituate, and 2) Ruth Damon 19 Aug 1865 at Boston. Lucy d. of Typhoid 22 Nov 1864 in Boston. Ruth d. 1872. Both Lucy and Ruth were daughters of Luther and Alice (Nash) Damon. Memorials for both Lucy and Ruth are in this cemetery, listed by James Bianco, and he also lists from personal visits. I see no reason Davis would not also be buried here since both his wives are and he was b. here in Scituate, plus parents also buried here. But....I
cannot confirm. I will not be back to that area until next August, may or may not have the time to
browse First Parish....sorry I can't be of more help here....Linda

RE: Gertrude Davis memorial @ Wildwood
Hi again,
I confirmed with the cemetery coordinator that no stone is there and we were unable to find one below the turf.

I took a few photos this morning for you. I posted a couple to F.A.G. to fulfill the request but have a few more for you that you may want to have. If you send me an email address I'll send them your way.

Gertrude Davis memorial @ Wildwood
I saw your photo request for Gertrude Davis @ Winchester's Wildwood Cemetery, and the "problem reported" by a previous volunteer. Have you been able to confirm with the office that no marker was installed? Would you like a photo of the marker that is there, even if she is not mentioned on it? Just want to help close this request. Thanks.
