The Photocopy of the picture to the left is the family of Francis & Rosa (Schott) Berst. I am their Grt Grt Grandaughter & I would like to be in contact with someone who has this actual photo & would consider scanning it for me.|
Please contact me with corrections that need to be made on my memorials. I'm happy to transfer them to family members. I can also e-mail the orig. size photos to you.
Have you seen the beautiful gravestones shaped like tree trunks? Stones shaped liked Tree Trunks or Stumps usually signify that the deceased was a member of The Woodmen of the World. They usually contain other symbols such as anchors, lillies, vines, etc. The company, Woodmen of the World, is still in existence under the name Modern Woodmen of America. I have made a virtual cemetery for them. If you are aware of any to add to my collection, please let me know. When I started collecting obituaries, I noticed some of my ancestors were Woodmen or sometimes called Foresters (You will see several in this virtual cemetery who died on the same date in a mining explosion at Jumbo, Oklahoma.
I apologize to anyone that photographed a gravestone for me & I neglected to thank. I think I may have missed a few notifications. I truly appreciate your time & effort.

|Heather Cottrell||One more tree|
I was trying to get some links done on this Callison family and ran on to this one that had a picture of the marker and it is a Woodsman Tree.
Thought I'd share it.

I found this one by accident as I was looking up Mr. Hannig's wife Susanna who was actually a survivor of the Alamo! Thought you might like to see this "tree".
