|---I was born in Brownwood, Texas where I lived until my college years..... I now live in Midland, Texas..Many of my family are buried at Bangs, Clear Creek, and Rocky Creek Cemeteries in Brown County, Texas. My father's family settled in Brown County in 1870's near Bangs.. sometimes as the original owner of that land. Almost everyone I have "posted" are somehow related to me but a few are friends. Contact me by email if you have any corrections, comments, or additional information to give me. 2/27/2005|

|Robert Garms & Margaret Stier-Garms||RE: Garms family picture.|
Hello, This is Robert's wife, Margaret. I followed your suggested and posted the Garms family picture on everyone's memorial but couldn't on Louis. It said his memorial has the maximum number of pictures allowed.
My father-in-law, Kenneth Garms gave us the picture and included a diagram of where everyone was in the picture. On the reverse side, he had listed dates of birth and deaths. (Except his, of course, we added that.) Since I'm the historian of the family, it was very helpful when I first started working on the Garms family tree.
I had the privilege of meeting some of Robert's aunts and uncles. A few years after we were married, we went to Texas to visit those of the family who were still living -- Maye Harriss and her daughter, Alwilda; Ruth "Ted" and Rex Terry; Warren "Smoky" Garms; Lillian's son, Darwin Stacy and his wife, Gladys Marie; Marion's wife, Gladys Garms; Debs and Hampton Garms and their son, David. I also met Pauline and her husband, Gene Carr when they came to visit Robert's Mom and Dad in Arkansas. That was just a couple years before they had their accident and were killed.
Thanks for the suggestion.

I'm glad to hear that someone from the family is responsible for the memorials. My parents and I are actually planning a trip down to Brownwood next week to visit the graves. We will also be heading to Comanche, Chico, and Crowell, TX to visit other ancestors, including Mary (Mollie) Ansley Naron Schulze's parents.

Thanks for transferring my father, Kenneth Berger Garms to me. I appreciate all the work you've done in creating memorials to my family. Could I be so bold as to ask that you transfer my grandparents, aunts and uncles also?
Louis Garms (#10537279)
Alwilda Goff Garms (#10537324)
Lillian Dell Garms Stacy (#10697531)
Marion E. Garms (#10655404)
Harry Garms (#12831649)
Pauline Garms Carr (#10655480)
Wayland Garms (#10655550)
May Beryl Garms Harriss (#10537420)
Warren Garms (#10655625)
I hesitate to ask but if you would agree to transferring the spouses also, it would make my family complete.
If you agree to the transfers but would like them sent separately, I can do that. Your consideration of making the transfer of ownership is very much appreciated.

I understand and appreciate your frustration.
The original entries were made verbatim from the book, "Rural Cemeteries of Brown County". Any errors (and there were many) were repeated when entered into Find A Grave. If you will prepare a list with the memorial number you think should remain and the duplicate memorial number, I will endeavor to clean up the duplicates.

Thanks for the information Warren. I now see your Lockett connection. My great-aunt was Julia McKnight Lockett (wife of Ira Reginald). I may have some photos of Reg and Julia to post...I'll see what I can find.

Are you related to Reg and Julia Lockett?

I am the president of the Glen Rose Cemetery Association and think you have made an error regarding the burial place of Deb Garms. I knew of Mr. and Mrs. Garms when I was growing up here and know that they are not buried at our cemetery. They are, instead, buried at Squaw Creek Cemetery which is about 3 miles east of Glen Rose just off U.S. Hwy. 67.
The Garms WERE living in Glen Rose when they passed but there are many cemeteries in our small county. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Thanks! Becky

Thank you so much for what you do. The obit in the paper had her middle name misspelled, could you change it for me. I am her niece and I was the one that put the obit in the paper but was out of town so did not get to proof it. It should be spelled Angenette,

Rocky Creek and Casons.
Loved your info on the Casons. I'm a descendent of Henry George Cason. I grew up next door to my greatgrandmother Willie Ann Cason, Swope. Her fathers name was William Newton Cason d. 13 Feb 1928 Kent Tx, and 1 of 6 sons of Henry. Williams wife was Martha J. and there is a gravestone at Rocky Creek with that name and unknown dates, but Henry had a daughter named Martha as well. William had 3 sons to carry the family name on. Do you know who I would contact to find out info as to when the martha headstone was placed in the cemetery?
Are you a Cason?
