I've been searching my family tree since the 1970's and it has turned into a full time addiction. I love genealogy!|
No need to ask permission for using any of my photos of graves or people, feel free to copy any of them. I am happy to share them all.
I love searching family trees and walking in the cemeteries. I put everything I find on "find a grave" and ancestry.com and hope that it helps others in their search.
If I have a memorial for a member of your family and that person is not a member of my family I would be more than happy to transfer that memorial to you. I add memorials when I find out there is not one for that person and don't feel like I "own" that memorial just because I added it. I would rather they be with a member of their family.

Hi Karen- Thank you for all the transfers, all the Doirons there are either my direct line or extended family. Do you have any Broussard's in that cemetery. Looking for Joseph Broussard 4x great grandfather and son Claude Broussard 3x great grandfather. Joseph should be there he was buried at St Mary's de Tours Church Cemetery. I was told or read somewhere that all the graves there at the church were moved to St Michaels Cemetery.Thank you again for your help. Jo

Hi Karen- I would like to request the transfer of my 2x great grandparents to me. They are Edmond Doiron #72276131 and Marie Arsene (Bonnin, Bonin) Bonnet #72276281. Also I am requesting the transfer of Michel Doiron #72276394 and Valery Doiron #72276453 children of the couple mentioned above. Thank you Jo
Hi Karen: Thank you for the kind message. It was certainly my pleasure to get the headstone photo for you. There are no discernible dates on the stone, although they may have been there long ago. The headstone is deteriorating, but the following is still clear:
Co. G 1 La Hv Arty CSA"
To the left lies Arista D. Brasseaux and Olivia L. Delino. To the right lies the Butaud family: Nona & Earline are the closest.
Behind Antoine's stone appears to lie a Dronet, although I cannot make out the full name or date. In fact, it appears that at least three are interred in this grave. Sorry to say the marker is badly deteriorated and I cannot make it out, except for the name "Dronet" and 2 years of death "1868" and "1854". If you would like to see these photos, please send me your email address so I can forward to you.
Two rows behind Antoine's grave lies his daughter, Anastasie, and her husband.
I'm planning a return trip to Bancker very soon to photograph the remaining section so let me know if I can be of any further assistance to you in this cemetery.
All the best,

|Samme and Richard Buck||RE: antoine Dronet in Bancker, La.|
Hi Karen: there is only one Bancker Cemetery in Vermillion Parish that is listed, and I can find no others in Louisiana...a couple up in the north Midwest US. We do always look for name spelling differences. Dronet is a fairly common name here, in fact, we had a friend named Donald Dronet who lived here in Vermillion Parish until he passed a couple of years ago. We looked for Antoine's in general, but no stones with that name, we also look for anyone who passed in the same year with a name variation. There is surprisingly few military plaques in that cemetery, but of course we looked for those also. My fear is that perhaps that stone never got placed and perhaps Mr. Dronet is unmarked. You might try calling the Lafayette Parish Catholic Diocese and see if they have any information on that cemetery or Mr. Dronet. This cemetery is also called Our Lady of Prompt Succor Cemetery. I don't believe the church is still there, but the Diocese might be able to assist you. Sorry we could not find him for you.

Unfortunately I'm only a guest on Ancestry. So I get glimpses of things. I love the history of our ancestors. My mom says we have a family member that was in the civil war. I wish I could afford the membership but I wouldn't even know who I was looking for. I'm curious did we have family that immigrated here?… I talked to my Aunt Barb, Aunt Doris And my mom this evening you all may be hearing from them real soon. All I know Karen I'm so glad you have kept up the family tree a and I just happen to find it accidentally. I have some pictures of my grandma and grandpa I
Would like posted since your the one who does all the work can I email them to you and you piost them? Looking forward to hearing from you. Kristie Reynolds
