Bio Photo Where to begin...I come from a large family that over the years has gone many different directions. Part of that large family had already begun doing the geneology, so I started on the rest of the story & now have added my husbands family lines to my search. History & Geography were always one of my favorite subjects....those subjects are a big part of what makes us who we are. Walking through cemeteries takes us on a journey of years past. Connections to Kanapaux, Griser, Tettemer, Healey, Burroughs/Burris,Dudley, Demby/Denby, Smith, Carter lines.

RE: Chapman-Dudley Cemetery
The last time I found anything about the owners was from the little convenience store. It used to be called the Peace and Plenty but when owner died another man is now leasing the store. He is helpful and probably can give you the name. Also check on Craven County GIS maps. They list the property owners. Floyd Gray Lancaster Jr owned the cemetery property and surrounding field. He lived at 2650 Wilmer Rd which is just before you get to the site on right. I am getting mixed information about the owner from the web search engine.

Please drop me email directly to me as I have mine listed on Find A Grave and I will give you a phone number as I am reluctant to put a person's phone number on a public message site.

Chapman-Dudley Cemetery
I haven't been out for a while. After seeing your thank you I wondered if you made it to the cemetery on 43. I kept wanting to go back because I learned where the graves were but the area inside the fence line grew up and then the farmer planted his field.

Need to carry water, a chair and a clean up crew to remove all the growth.

I'll have to look to see what images have been added to those memorials to see if you were there. I'm pleased you are still interested in your many family connections.

Elizabeth Dudley Plyler
Hi Carrie Anne, I noticed that some one fulfilled my request for a photo for Elizabeth. I have John and Sallie linked with all their other children. Can you link Elizabeth up with John and Sallie so all of the kids are listed on their memorial. Thanks A lot!

Verna Cannon Burroughs
Hi Carrie,
If you don't mind could you transfer Verna Cannon Burroughs' memorials over to me so I can add the family to them?
Thanks,
Deborah
